Have to say, that is the most I have enjoyed a Burton Albion ninety minutes since, well I can’t remember when.
Mikey mentioned the recruitment team and I think it is good to remember that it is not just Bendik Hareide working on this but a team of recruiters to get the players we want, to play a style that we want. People have mentioned a ‘scatter gun’ approach but it is now clear to see that it is anything but.
Nick Akoto. Wow. I can’t imagine that the record fee for the US third tier is that high, but we appear to have a gem there. Very composed, paced, and what a cross for the first goal. Dare I say it…..Tom who?
Personally I had Bodin as MoM but as a media team we considered so many good performances. Bodin, for me, has that little bit of ‘arrogance’ but in a good way and looks a real player.
Gilligan and Chauke were very good in midfield. Let’s not forget that when Watt and Webster are fully fit, they are probably first choice in there but Gilly, and Kegs if he wants to stay around and be part of it are more than able options.
Tactically it can be all to easy to get hung up on formations. Yesterday we set up 3421 and showed how a back three with wingers can work. However we were so fluid, at times, Crocombe was being an additional centre back.
There will, of course, be much tougher tests to come, were Port Vale poor or did we make them look poor, time will tell but for a group that has only been together less than a month yesterday was very encouraging. With more to come back from injury and potentially more new signings to come as well, something is most definitely brewing.

Kegs and Gilly the 2 stand outs. Keggy I value your opinion. What you seen do you think that by March 2025 this squad of players are going to have a good chance of being safe from relegation? Based on one performance, with what was unlikely to be the starting line up for Lincoln (according to MR), I would say that we don’t look like a team who will be too worried about relegation this season.

Without getting too excited just yet, my thoughts are towards the other end of the table. There was energy and confidence all over the pitch, something we havent seen for a very long time. We all knew anyway, but we wont miss any of the departed players.

These are talented footballers with good football brains.

I am a very old "Cheshire" Brewer who was present at the Brewers very 1st match in August 1950 then aged 8 and I well remember sitting on my Dad's shoulders whilst leaning on the Press Box which was mounted on stilts at the Old LLpyds Social Club Ground in Wellington Street Extension. I now live 70 miles away Nr Warrington so I could only follow the Brewers on ifollow, but I now understand that is not going to be available in future, and I don't have Sky so it won't be easy for me to follow my team in the 24/25 season which is a shame but the new look team ownership and management certainly looks to be exciting. Come On You Brewers

Come On You Brewers Hi Cheshire Brewer. Couple of things: I think you can buy matches and watch on-line without actually having to “have” sky. And also, I believe I read that iFollow was still available for international viewers, so if you or someone else can install a VPN it may be possible to purchase IFollow content.

Because I use a VPN the EFL wrote to me and offered a better than half price offer. Every game for £130, obviously paying per match would be £460. I am tempted at that price as although I have Sky I think it’s a brilliant offer.

Will the Albion want to screen them internationally? it's unlikely they'll get thousands watching. As a season ticket holder only the away's will be any use to me and seven are on sky already.

My Albion log in only shows an audio pass available for the Lincoln game, but that could be as I don't have a foreign VPN

From Google Ian: Are VPNs legal to use? In most countries VPNs are completely legal, including in the US, Canada, the UK, and most European and Latin American countries. However, VPNs are illegal in countries such as Belarus, Iran, Iraq, and Turkmenistan.

I dunno. It will be in the Ts and Cs.

You need a local bank account and local address if abroad and not all EFL clubs subscribe to it although it looks like we do.
