www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22228814Brentford and Doncaster faced each other yesterday in a game where Rovers needed a point to secure promotion. However, if Brentford won then they would be promoted and Donny would have had to settle for the play offs. In injury time the Bees were awarded a penalty in front of the mass of home supporters behind the goal. Marcello Trotta stepped up...hit the bar, Donny cleared it to Billy Paynter who bombed down the right wing and squared the ball to James Coppinger who tapped into an empty net in front of the mass of away supporters behind the goal at the other end of the ground. In the space of 90 seconds Doncaster Rovers went from staring down the barrel of the play offs to league 1 champions. I feel for any supporter who has to go through what the Bees supporters did yesterday but as for Donny supporters...well, if Carlsberg did final games of the season...

Saw it on the Football League Show. Reminded me of our Plymouth game - corner at one end, then we've scored.
Apparently Uwe Rosler (Brentford's boss) is furious that such a massive penalty kick was taken by a 19 year-old trainee, rather than the more experienced penalty takers. Plus there was zero marking - where was the defence? Up field for the erm......celebrations.
When I watched it, a shiver ran down my spine. You can't buy moments like that - well done Donny. Bet Dean Saunders wishes he hadn't gone to that big club in the Championship (Well, they are at the moment...)
