The daft thing for me is, that all our new signings have said how delighted they are to be coming “to a club like Burton Albion”. But the existing players (Sweeney, Crocombe and Gilligan excepted), don’t seem to have the same feeling and commitment to the project. Maybe they have missed out on the presentation on it, as something seems to be missing.

I just think they speak well Bob, especially Tom Davidson, with the welcome meeting and the focus groups last week and also what new signings have said ‘When I heard about the project I wanted to be part of it’.

Isn't it more likely to be t'other way around... that the new regime decided that some (most) of our existing players were not going to be a part of the new project... so most likely didn't get the presentation to get excited about...?

I'd imagine Bendik as the sporting director watched the final few months of last season (the Nordic Football Group company on Companies House was set up on February 17th) to see what we have and to give instructions on the contract renewals. Then later down the line, when the takeover was complete and Robbo was appointed, they could go through the squad and see what they wanted to keep.
That's what I think could have happened - either way I think they have a plan, just we don't know what that is currently

The plan seems to be to rebuild the team with good youngish footballers who have yet to reach their full potential...to get them there by coaching them into a winning side playing attractive football.
Off the pitch to eventually improve the facilities, the match-day 'experience' grow the support, maintain the work of the community trust and continue the work of 'Sir' Ben in making Burton Albion a team we will all still be proud to support... SIMPLES!

Colston’s article, as far as I can see, makes no mention of five experienced League One players. It mentions one or two more experienced players, players to ensure we have two for every position including a second goalkeeper with a couple of potentially exciting additions in the mix too. I would be surprised if the backup keeper would be an experienced head, particularly if Max is likely to be number one again this season. If we work on the basis that only Max, Sweens and Gilly plus potentially Delap are likely to be involved from last season, plus sixteen signings so far, that is twenty, plus the academy graduates so a few more to fill out the squad are still needed. Colston’s article says in the quote from Robinson: ‘“We’re a lot closer than we were and we’re just looking to fill a few spaces now. We’re looking for another goalkeeper and we want two players for every position so it’s just a case of looking for those second players in some positions – and also possibly, I believe, a couple who will get people excited.“ So, in my simple mind, if we want another keeper and we “want 2 players for every position’ , with a squad of 16 new signings it would leave 5 more outfield signings. Unless of course we are going to keep some of the 5 who are out of favour. “Five more outfield signings” is clearly no the same as “five experienced League One players”. CBH is right to point out that I haven’t written that there could be five experienced League One players to come. Doesn’t mean there won’t be though! We shall see.

'Shaun' on twitter seems to think Will Grigg will be a brewer soon.
Can't see it myself. 33 years old, dropped down to non league although bagged 24 in 33...

Grigg is finished at this level, there's a reason he dropped down to non league because he'd forgotten how to score after 2017/18. I'd put that rumour in the very silly bin.
Also seen on Twitter that Wigan are linked with a £200k move for Mark Helm, but the account it's off has probably got 1 thing right out of about 500 posts.

He could well be stuck in limbo if there's not much interest at this level and we hold out for a decent compensation fee, plus if the contract is still on the table, he'll be down the pecking order with us.
