I'm not expecting anything any time soon. If we have a potential sale / investment, there isn't going to be a decision on the manager - if there isn't a decision on the manager, there won't be a retained list for a while.
At least the draw for the Corporate five-a-side is out though

Maybe any investment/takeover may delay the retained list, but in all reality would it make much of a difference?
Takeover or not we should still end up releasing Blackman, Oshilaja, Carayol, Kamwa, Walker, maybe Gilligan etc and offering terms to Powell/Hughes, I'm not sure how a takeover would affect any of that particularly much.
Personally I don't want Paterson in charge of the retained list either.
Unless any takeover places you in a contract & transfer embargo, but we could still release players.

Where is there rumours of a takeover? No news is typical of BAFC, no I wouldn't expect any takeover news being bandied about by themselves but absolutely nothing about the management or player movement is poor so far.

The managerial situation should have already been resolved at least.

As frustrating as it is that nothing has been published yet, League rules state that clubs have until the third Saturday in May to formally decide and make offers to players out of contract at the end of June. (Rules are flexed for sides still involved in play-offs etc). That is why the lists come out in dribs and drabs after the end of the season.
Last year we did not announce ours until 17th May so were quite late, compared to other teams. Most seasons we have had the players in on the Monday/Tuesday after the last match and done it straight away but I think I heard Martin say on Saturday that he may be taking a couple of days or so to recharge the batteries, so to speak, after Fleetwood, perhaps indicating that talks are not yet complete with out of contract players.

Some of the players were definitely having a few days away to recharge their batteries ;-) (as they are perfectly entitled to do, and probably what I’d have been doing too in my mid twenties…)

And MP is out of contract himself...

sometime this week then for an announcement around players and managers? got to be done before end of Saturday if I understand it correctly? Taken from the EFL handbook:Any Club wishing to re-engage a Contract Player whose contract is due to expire on 30 June must, save as mentioned in Regulations 68.2.1 to 68.2.4 below, notify him in writing by the third Saturday in May in the final year of his contract whether or not they offer him terms of re engagement specifying (where applicable) such terms.Of course, that only mentions notifying the players in question. The Regulations 68.2.1 to 68.2.4 merely relate to where clubs are engaged in competitions, potentially, beyond the third Saturday in May, eg play-offs, FA Cup Final etc.

aha, so while the players will know where they stand, we may not do, until the club decide to release the news.

I'm intrigued to see who is actually taking control of the retained list, because if it is the 'manager', he's out of contract himself shortly with absolutely no update to the fans on if he's staying around. That should've been confirmed way before any retained list. Either Ben wants him or he doesn't.
I'm sure internally they know way more than us, but if they don't and things are still up in the air, surely that would put the players in a tough spot. As a player I'd want to know who I was re-signing for.
Maybe the rumoured takeover, which I personally doubt is happening, could delay things, but it can only drag on for so long.

We may be signing up Ms Robinson to do the honours of deciding what happens next, manager/player retention etc, who knows? In truth the fans are the reason the football club exists but we are kept in the dark about what's happening even after some have paid there dues for next season.

I must confess I am seriously underwhelmed by the current state of play. It’s as if we didn’t learn anything whatsoever from what happened last season. We survived miraculously by the skin of our teeth and surely anyone with the clubs best interests at heart would ideally want to avoid a repeat in 2024/25.

I’ve just seen a tweet (not sure if it is true ) that we are the only league one team not yet to release our retained list.

Only 17 league one teams up to now have released their retained list according to the Northampton Chronicle and Echo. Bolton and Oxford United still have the League 1 play off final to play.
