I think we are past all this anyway so it’s largely academic. Let’s focus on the pitch and for that there is plenty to criticise and pick holes in. Focus your efforts on getting a decent game plan on Saturday that does not result in a 3-0 loss.

But, in fairness, this has been a big talking point among fans all week. The question was asked, he answered.

I can only reiterate that the support around me was noisy, enthusiastic and welcoming for the team and Martin in the last few games (as it always has been incidentally). The team have to give something back however and give us something to shout about - that has been sadly lacking. But most people understand that Martin picked up the poisoned chalice that nobody else fancied, you have to ask yourself why did the rumours of ‘The return of Rowett’ not materialise? Why did the experienced Steve Cotterill end up at Forest Green? Why was Warnock available only in February after the transfer window shut? I’d guess it was because no one else wanted to be part of the shipping out of all of our forward players and their replacement with untried kids. Only someone desperate for their break into management was going to go with it and Martin did.

Time to do the talking on the pitch Martin. It’s not the defeats as such, it’s the manner of them. Fans aren’t stupid, I don’t think anyone has a problem with losing with the right attitude. Attitude and commitment has been poor from most and the fans pick up on that. If you want the fans onside then go out there and play like you mean it.

"Nobody else fancied it" If I recall the job wasn't offered out to all, MPs appointment just happened, a recommendation I think I read. Anyways, it ain't worked, it's all on to get a positive result Saturday. I've given up thinking about football now, I'm seeing out the season and see what develops for next.

He could call me any name under the sun if we actually won a few games.

There are levels of criticism. Although I'm not a fan of Paterson's managemtn style/results, I'm willing to give him some slack here.
1) Having a good old moan on here or FB - fair enough. 2) After losing to Carlisle/Port Vale/ extending home losing streak - fair enough if the crowd has a go. 3) During the match - NO! although.... 4) The crazy substitutions. Deji on for Bennett. Hugill & Harper off for whoever in the Prt Vale/Barnsley match. A ten second "WTF" booing - not great but understandable. 5) What (in my opinion) is totally unacceptable and/or counter-productive is the horrible, negative chanting during a game. No, no and again no.
Port Vale - you're nothing special, we lose every week. No! Not helpful. We've had a shot.....We've got the ball.....we've lost the ball.....No. Not helpful. How sh*t must you be....we scored a goal / had a shot etc. No. Not helpful.
But it's not just at home - I was at Wigan and it was the same.
Supporters pay their money etc.....but think about the players. Your/our players. How can they raise their performances with THAT ringing in their ears.
I'm not happy at all (and haven't been for months) but I will never join in with those chants. That's not 'support'.
I have no idea how managers and players keep it together after a match for an interview. I remember Chris Hussey using the f-word once and he wasn't even angry.
PS I agree with all posts above too.

It's doesn't just happen to the Albion all this booing ,you only have to go back as far as the first half of the game against Barnsley and their fans were giving their team and manager plenty of abuse, but they turned it around after the interval. It happens everywhere. That's football.

Perhaps the rendition of "We're going down" was for the benefit of those who apparently do not accept relegation as a realistic threat?
