Thanks for that Luke.I would assume something will be sorted out with Stockton and Gordon to release them from their contracts.Out of the players whose contracts expire I would only look at trying to re-sign Brayford ,Hughes,Powell and possibly Helm.I would suspect Hughes will be offered better terms elsewhere.

I'm not so sure if Walker is out of contract or not. I'm not sure we'd pay £200k to sign someone on an 18 month deal.

It is one of those perennial opaque things that frustrates me a tad. Is it as difficult to find out similar information at other clubs?

I'm hoping we can get some kind of fee out of Stockton (if he wants to leave anyway - would love to keep him if not). Now he is back scoring again at Barrow, I can imagine there'll be a few teams interested in him, so hope we can start a bit of a bidding war and raise some money for our rebuild.

Out of the ones out of contract, realistically, I can only see Brayford, Gilligan and maybe Kamwa staying on. Also, if he doesn't want to leave us, I really think we should give Charlie Lakin another shot in the team. I don't think there's been a week recently where I haven't seen him getting a goal or assist for Sutton, but I expect he's probably made his mind up already, so good luck to him

League Two does seem to be his level ,so still wait and see ,but as you say he probably doesn't want to here now .

I feel sorry for the guy, was given a three year contract, never really given a fair run in the team and didn’t really do anything wrong. He was on loan at Doncaster second half of last season and doing well there too until a nasty season ending injury. As superbrewer has said he could be a useful player if we end up in League Two but wouldn’t blame him if he moved on.

In our first game in the football league, Pesch played almost a brand new XI - although he changed it in the next match - he'd retained most of the side. In our first game in the Championship, Nigel played almost a brand new XI - he'd had a clear out. No matter what league we're in, I can see the same happening - sort of
GK Crocombe DF Sweeney, Moon, Hamer MD Harper (who has hardly figured - shame) & Bennett (often injured)
I'm not sure anyone else (other than Brayford) would want to stay after this miserable experience of a season.
Another summer; another clear-out for a new manager.

Well so far MP has not covered himself in glory with his signings, so if a complete rebuilding job is necessary, that is where it could go horribly wrong. And PLEASE let’s not go for the big un.

Not sure that TransferMarkt have got Blackman right. When we signed him there was no mention in the announcement regarding the length of his deal. Most of the other signings were all clearly announced as two year deals. Given that he only signed a one year deal with Exeter the season before coupled with it not being mentioned in his unveiling I suspect he only signed a one year deal here too.

Yeah I do hope he is on a one year deal, can imagine he is earning a relatively big wage, and even more when he is sitting on our bench every week too, so would be better putting that money into an outfield player

The fact that we ended up with two “first-choice” goalkeepers is testament to the on-going mismanagement of the club. We’re Burton Albion, not Barcelona.

I was surprised myself having two keepers of that standing, Blackman was said to be the best paid player at Exeter, how true that is I've no idea, but you'd assume he's on a good whack here (and our best paid keeper) and I think most of us would've expected him to have been No1 and Max pushing him hard for his spot. In reality, he's been a distant No2 and only really used in emergencies or the minor cup games.
Given Max has had a very good season, you never know, he might have admirers over the summer and we could be looking for some new keepers again. If we can keep him, we'd probably have one of the best keepers in L2.
Similar happened in January, when you look at the loans we brought in, the likeliest to be on good money (Hudlin), has barely had a sniff. I think Ben has given managers a respectable budget over the last few years but my god have they misused it.

Just shows how bad he must be , can't even get close to being in the squad.Must say I did expect him to be sent out on loan during the transfer window .

Chauke had an ankle injury before Xmas, last appeared against Charlton on the 20th January for 7 minutes and hasn't been seen since. 5 league appearances all season.
Either he's rubbish or injured again. If he simply can't make the squad that's a wage just sat around doing nothing.
