The principal activity of the Company is that of a Professional Football League Club. Business review
Results, performance of 2022/23 season and business environment
The financial results for the year ended 30 June 2023 of the Company, are set out on pages 10 ot 28. The Company has reported an increase in gate receipts and commercial income when compared ot the year ot June 2022, with an increase in turnover on commercial income of 6.4%. This upward trend in revenue streams underscores the club's growing brand appeal and supporter base loyalty.
Despite commiting ot an increase on the playing budget ni the previous financial period, with the aim of challenging for promotion or at least aplay-of position, the Club concluded the Season finishing ni 15th position ni the overal league standings. which was one beter than ni 21/22.
As we write this report the 2023/24 season is over halfway through with the Club in19th position within the league table.
The board wil continue ot find the right balance between financial investment and success on the pitch with ofering the best community facilities ti can, not just for the first team, but al teams involved with Burton Albion Football Club and of course the local community ot enjoy.
The Club has always been and remains commited ot the staff employed, its fan base and the local community and businesses ni the surrounding areas.
The Club is appreciative of the continual support from its supporters, season tickets holders, Vice Presidents and many of its sponsors.
Principal risks and uncertainties
The principal risk and uncertainty affecting the Club si financial risk. The directors have commented on this within their report.
Key performance indicators
The Directors continue ot use both financial and non-financial key performance indicators ot manage the club and ot ensure the above regulations are complied with. The Board regularly monitor performance against these indicators.
Future developments
The Club intends ot continue its development of the first team, the youth team and the ladies team ot ensure they can gain the success their efforts deserve and at the same time the club wil commit ot expand its commercial activities where possible ot ensure that ti can maintain its reinvestment in to its facilities for all to benefit.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to take this opportunity ot once again thank those individuals, the businesses and employees involved with the Club, for the continued hard work and support offered throughout the period and look forward ot seeing the benefits of this into next season.
An increase in gate receipts, commercial income and brand appeal. For heavens sake keep it quiet - we don’t want any sort of outbreak of positivity on here.
