We're on 39 points now. We've picked up 1 point from possible 18 in last 6 games We've eight games left to play Port Vale (Home) Wigan (Away) Barnsley (Home) Oxford (Home) Stevenage (Away) Cheltenham (Home) Reading (Home) Fleetwood (away) Many think 50 points will be needed for us to stay in League 1 How many points will we finish the season with? I haven't got a bloody clue.....but here's how the-real-efl supercomputer thinks the season will pan out and low and behold it predicts we will finish 18th on 50 points therealefl.co.uk/2024/03/19/heartbreak-for-derby-county-joy-for-lincoln-city-final-league-one-table-predicted/

we should really get 3 wins from those last games. maybe targeting port vale, cheltenham and fleetwood
however, all those teams are fighting at the bottom of the table like we are too. Fleetwood last game of the season, lets hope they are already relegated when we play them!
can't see us getting anything from wigan, Barnsley an Oxford
Reading, it depends on which version of them turns up on the day
so, I'm the same as you, not got a clue!
we could finish on 50 points. but it could also easily be 42 or 44 and then we are in big trouble (which we already know)

Wigan (A) - defeat Barnsley (H) - defeat Oxford (H) - defeat Stevenage (A) - defeat Cheltenham (H) - defeat Reading (H) - defeat Fleetwood - 0-0 draw
I think we'll end the season with 40 points. If you think I'm being melodramatic, I dare you to challenge my predictions.
Four more home games. How many goals are we predicting?

At the minute, 39 is looking optimistic.
Not a chance in hell are we reaching the 50 mark.
Absolute best case scenario, if the gaffer/players realise we're actually in a relegation battle is, maybe 43/44 points. Even we'll fluke a win somewhere down the line.

Doing my simple projections again. This is what the bottom 5 will get:
Cambridge 47 Us 46 Cheltenham 44 Vale 43 Fleetwood 40 Carlisle 28
But that is taking the average points over the whole season and takes no account of current form, new manager bounce etc. For us it’s 2 wins and a draw, so a win at Wigan, a draw at home to Barnsley and a win v Cheltenham. To go into the final game with it in our own hands. It’s definitely squeaky bum time and I may be being wildly optimistic. To be honest I came away from the ground today more or less reconciled to League 2 football next season.

Shrewsbury have been sucked into the relegation battle - they have a poor goal difference and two tough away games - Bolton and Charlton - followed by a last match home to Leyton Orient...

From the Vale forum - quite useful to see all fixtures that are coming up.
