It’s a good job Port Vale are rubbish. It’s a pity Burton are more rubbish.

Okay... I'm seriously worried about relegation now. Can't seem to get a result from anywhere, even at home against a side in worse form than we are (yes, I know the game isn't finished yet but I have zero belief we can score).
Also... I think Kyle Hudlin is challenging for the worst footballer I've seen in a Brewers shirt... he's tall... he's got nothing else going for him!

Sorry but I'm already out of patience with Paterson. I know we've got a crap squad but this is some of the worst management I've ever seen.

We're riding our luck. They've missed two sitters and had another trickle past the post. Can we score against the run of play? Probably go 1 down in the 85th minute, then have our usual 5/7 minute throw everybody forwards phase we usually have before the final whistle. It really does show the levels we have sunken to this season when as bad as Vale have been they are still the better side in this one so far. The Carlisle result was the wake up call for the fans at least. Seems you predicted correctly Fred!

I have no doubt we will be in league 2 next season. Terrible few years at the Pirelli ahead too I fear.

Let's see what drivel MP will come out with after this.
And Porky if we go down this season, we'll be in for another big struggle next season. I wouldn't rule out a double relegation, which would obviously be horrific.

Most important game of the season so far, an entire week on the training pitch, and that is the product. Ben better be looking for managers in the summer if not sooner

Quite a few Derby fans were telling me before the match that Port Vale were “the worst team in the league” and that, even though Burton were poor, they should easily beat them. I wasn’t so sure, but today confirmed that the table DOES lie and Burton are clearly one of, if not the worst team in the league. Clueless, lacking in confidence and ability and led by donkeys. When you take off those shirts after the game, throw them away as you are not fit to wear them. Think of a change of career - something which doesn’t involve physical fitness or skill with a ball - maybe telephone sanitizer or advertising executive or traffic warden. Walk out of the door, get into your posh car and drive away far into the distance. Embarrassing.

Would anyone be that surprised if MP went tonight or at the latest next week? I would be delighted. He is not a professional football manager. He is a fraud. When Dino went, many of us said the appointment of his successor would define our long/medium term future. I'm afraid to say Ben has completely messed up in hiring him.

Can you remember those dark blue t-shirts with "Burton Albion est. 1950" on them? They've been out of stock for ages. I bought two today from the club shop. Fantastic!!!
Also - a massive plus - neither Cheltenham or Fleetwood won today. It's all going to plan.

We look very short on ideas and quality
Hoof it a bit. Run around a bit.
Vale had a bit of a plan. They’d obviously trained on winning the ball back and did it well in a couple of situations where we found ourselves outnumbered in midfield, The goal a key example of rushin 3 men at helm and he had no where to go and lost the ball (again). Just happened that although he lost the ball just outside their box, we were short at the back and their counter attack worked
Agree on hudlin being terrible. Was really pleased to see he sent on Dylan Scott, at least he seems to know where the goal is, but it shows how bad our loan signings from premier league teams are when we are sending on one of our kids (i hope Dylan Scott gets more chances and turns into a regular for us, just maybe next season when we aren’t quite so desperate for goals)

I felt so bad for Dylan. I hope it doesn't knock him too much, he deserves an actual chance in a functioning team, playing actual football.

We all said this would happen in January.
I'm not saying Stockton, Walker or Gordon would've set the world on fire, but if it was between those & the dross we've brought in on loan?
We might've saved money on wages, but we've likely bought ourselves a one way ticket to League 2 in the process.

It's really difficult to know what to say about that. I am completely and utterly stunned. They deserved to win as they wanted it more. A club like ours is where it is because over the years players and management have represented us with pride but not at the moment and it's truly embarrassing. That was just awful.
I can't be bothered to analyse what went wrong there as it's basically everything. That's not proper football, it's negative anti football with players who can barely string any passes together.
I hate to say this but I think MP is out of his depth with the current situation and if you think the way we played pre Christmas was Dino's fault(and it was) then by the same measure the way we are playing now has to be MP's fault. I think if Ben wants to stay up then unfortunately he will have to pull the trigger on somebody who only has 7 games left anyway as regardless of what happens I can't see him being kept on for next season as the fans have turned. We've seen how he's set us up and i'm afraid it doesn't and hasn't ever looked good and that's even in the games we have won.
Sad, sad state of affairs i'm afriad and very depressing. This is a culmination of playing survival football for too long now, really since NC left, where working on attacking play seems a thing of the past.
Not sure what else to say. I'm done with it.

Special mention too, to whoever forgot to aerate the pitch in October and November and has left us with the mud patch that won’t get fixed this season. Hasn’t helped us at all

We might've saved money on wages, but we've likely bought ourselves a one way ticket to League 2 in the process. In fairness I thought Hugill looked OK at times today and for him to be taken off for Hudlin who just isn't a footballer was a sign of desperation and we weren't even losing then! I also actually think it's the formation that is the main issue and have thought so for most of the season. We can criticise the young loan players but it's really the system or lack of that's the major problem.
