www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/2024/march/1303-st/Season ticket prices have been frozen for another year. The early bird window is until Friday 19 April (the day before penultimate game of the season) - hopefully we will know by then if we will playing League One football next season or not

That's an early, early bird price offer. It's usually later in the close season we have a deadline date for renewals. Still a good price yet again, worth it? Well I said I'd still attend (some matches) but not renew for next season, hmm..?

The options available at Burton do not incentivise “New” season ticket sales but it does reward those with long-term loyalty. There are limited seats and then the only ones that tend to be available to new applicants are in the blocks nearest to the corner. So the option really is to buy a season ticket, suffer in poor seats for a season and hope space appears the following season for you to shuffle along.
I suspect this has an impact on limiting season ticket sales and “justifies”higher prices.
A terrace season ticket offers some savings for those who attend every home game anyway but not enough to create much wider interest (in my considered opinion - always delighted to be shown evidence to contradict opinion).
It’s been said lots of times, but investment in more seating around the ground would be welcome but presents a financial risk to Ben Robinson - a substantial cost might well result in only a negligible increase in attendance. Ben appears to be conservative and only takes very carefully calculated financial risks. If he was otherwise, we may not have a club to argue about at all.

I'll be there...for some.
I'm not taking up the offer to renew, great price that it is. I'll pick a few matches to attend, don't mind paying whatever terrace price. I felt obliged to attend when sometimes this season I didn't really want to, rearranged games for one, some I didn't agree with.

I will wait before renewing my season ticket,it doesn’t really matter what league the club is in.This offer is a real own goal and anyway I expect it to be extended to another date. Some talk of extending the popside will not matter,if the club gets relegated and maybe further relegation in the future! Can’t blame other fans for not renewing,as said in another thread some questionable decisions have been made by those in charge, and this time it has backfired badly. Not doubt someone will come along and sugarcoat it,blaming everyone but the club themselves!

Well we are going down this next week to renew ours. It took us a while to get a seat and now we are not going to lose the seat now. Whatever happens and whatever the league we are in .....we will be supporting the team.

I'm amazed at that, I know the early Bird offers are good value, but asking fans to commit before the seasons finished is wrong, especially in our current situation of not knowing what division we'll be playing in? I'd have thought end of May more acceptable as a fan? I probably will commit, but I fear they'll be quite a few who won't?

I do wish we could try something to attract new fans. A real stonking deal especially for under 18s. As we really need something for next season to attract people to attend or it could be some sub 2000 gates. I still think kids for a quid games or fiver for all on a Tuesday would work to stimulate some interest as well. Free tickets for school kids, ticket bundle deals (3 for 2 ) and other incentives could work. Rewarding loyalty is important but that number of renewals will be dropping each year.

I have been a season ticket holder for almost 40 years in total. I bought my first one in the late 60's and apart from a 10 year gap in the 70's and 80's when I worked away, I have been a holder ever since. There have been some great times along the way. In the early years it was a struggle for the club to survive but we gradually progressed until Nigel Clough arrived. Since then - until 4 years ago, success has been phenomenal. Since he left for the 2nd time we have been on a downward spiral. The football has, by and large, been atrocious. I cannot understand why successive managers cannot see the problems- particularly MP at the current time. I have had enough. I will not be renewing my season ticket this time. I will continue to attend but will be very selective about which games to watch. I feel very sad in making this decision but feel that I have been driven to it by the inane football that has been offered at the Pirelli for far too long. I hope that we get a new manager who can deliver what we all want - some success but more importantly ENTERTAINMENT which has been sadly lacking for far too long.

This comment should find its way to the chairman as a sad indictment of our current plight. How very sad that you have come to this conclusion but completely understandable.

I'll be honest, I was so close not to renewing, but will do so tomorrow, my thinking is, it can't get any worse surely? I still think the deadline for early bird is too early, it should be after the season ends?

I still think the deadline for early bird is too early, it should be after the season ends? Particularly in the circumstances too. I guess they don't want to admit defeat by pushing the deadline back but they really should have been a bit more lenient with the deadline knowing that we were very likely to be a relegation fight when they announced it imo

There have been occasions in the past when STH have been asked to renew in April. It is too early in my opinion but I can see that it helps with financial planning. I have renewed today.
I should think today's news about the scrapping of FA cup replays without consultation with EFL or non league clubs is also potentially a big blow to all small clubs likes ours.

Not renewing ST and now don't attend FA cup matches. I'm afraid it's al about pandering to the Premier league and what they want. Not much interest in the cups until the big boys come in, then some fans get suckered in to the dream of winning it.
