What a touching tribute it was today to Brewers supporters we have lost during the last 18 months or so during the Pandemic. I was shocked to see so many great names and wonderful supporters had passed including Dave Tebbett (Claymillsman) well known from this forum and many others I knew too Gordon Marjoram, Nigel Peck, John Appleby, Trevor Dunn, Director Colin Brodie and former players the great Richie Barker and 87 Wembley hero Dave Redfern. The others will no doubt be known to many of you on here and all deserve our respect and to be recognised - Peter Hopkins, Vic Venus, Don Smith, Jim Robertson, Pat Towner, Adele Bradley, Derek Goodwin, Dave Bartram, Peter Green, Pauline Hubbard, Anthony ‘John’ Ward, Steve Perry, Bernard Royale, Phil Parkes, Jim Woolwich, Robin Woolley, Clive Bestall, Margaret Thurman, Pete Ford, Mervyn Smalley, Melvyn Hill, Brian Hill, Greg Smith, Stella Salt, and Mick Redfern, RIP fellow Brewers - I am so sorry to see so many names taken from us by this horrible illness and it’s knock on effect.

Agree 100% mikey that this was/is a great thing for the club to do.... (I think they may have done it before? Last year? or two?)(or maybe I heard it at another club/away game) ... a shame that the graphics on the scoreboard were so poor it was pretty nigh on impossible to make out the names (from where I was standing in the Don Amott anyway) ....a transient feature I know (5 mins on the scoreboard) and fortunately their nearest and dearest will have the comfort of reading the 'respects' published more permanently by the club on the website and in the programme...and on here (since you listed them)

I had no idea we’d lost claymillman. I didn’t know him personally but I had great respect for him through his posts on here. RIP Dave.

I agree. It was a great comfort to my Mum. And to all the other Families. She had it on the radio listening to the minuets silence. She kept saying what a lovely thing to do for Don. My mum was worried about getting a copy of the program. I phoned the Albion and true to form Emma had 40 sitting on her desk ready to be posted out to anyone that couldn’t get there. They really are incredible. And of course they won for Dad (according to Mum ) bless.

Brings it home when it's someone you know, no matter if it's through this forum or in real life. Gutting.
Claymillsman was someone I liked and had a lot of respect for.
RIP Dave and thanks for your contribution to making this place somewhere enjoyable to spend time on.

Many thanks to you all for your kind condolences on the loss of my father, Dave Tebbett (AKA Claymillman) Your comments have been shared with the family and we are moved to hear the high regard in which he was held across the Brewers family. It makes us very proud.

I have talked to a couple of people about this and I propose to make this a special part of the forum. I did consider putting it on the main board, but in reflection think that it would be better in 'the other place" so to speak.
If not only for a those who we have recently lost, but also it is a good excuse to tell the odd story from the past.
EDIT:
I am struggling to get it in the place on the board where I want it, but will continue to try.....
My apologies. I can’t work out how to do this. Therefore I have bumped and stickies the post so that it will always be among the top three of the posts on the main board. I hope this is acceptable. I will try again soon…

He was a great bloke, very knowledgeable about the Albion and worked tirelessly on away travel for many years. He will be sorely missed and the world will be a poorer place without him. RIP Dave.

I wanted to pay my tribute to many of those listed above but Pete Hopkins became a special, if adopted, part of the Brewers family. A Southender who was also partial to Ipswich. An man who didn't suffer fools, always wore Oxford brogues but was hugely kind hearted, gregarious and generous.
And he got his Bentley (and pranged it).

And Jim Woolrich, who was on the first away trip I went on the Independent Supporters coach, always had a warm friendly smile. A gentle man.

Dave was a longtime friend we went to Grange Street School together along with Alan Neal who passed away a while back, I knew Jim Woolrich as well , all loyal supporters of the Albion. RIP friends, you will be greatly missed.

A lovely gesture by the club. Mum met my dad at the Wellington Street ground. It always seems strange to think I wouldn't exist without the Albion. Whilst we couldn't persuade mum to come to the Pirelli in her latter years she had her tales of FA Cup runs in the 1950s. It mattered to her that the family carried on supporting the club whilst she checked what was happening on Radio Derby. She was born in Burton, lived there for over 80 years but due to lockdown her friends couldn't say goodbye. Thanks to the club we all feel she had her chance to say goodbye to the town.

I see our old manager from back in ‘88 has passed away.. Bobby Hope. He did a great job when manager at Bromsgrove Rovers. I remeber his team trouncing us 6-0 in a Southern league cup tie at Eton Park. I remember him best as an inside left for WBA.
