Jimmy hasn't made too many bad decisions in his time here and I'm a strong supporter of his, but I've a strong feeling this will be one.

Has appeared for Wales at U17 and U19 level. Ex Oldham so a connection with Dino maybe? Probably on very modest wages to get another chance on a one year contract. I wouldn’t bet against him totally.

When i first saw he was on trial with us i looked into his stats and can't say i was over impressed. Since then i have delved into his past a little deeper. He is certainly experienced at this level, not an out and out goalscorer but certainly a big strong lad who knows how to use his strength to hold off defenders and unsettle them, he's mobile and pacy with a fair bit of skill and capable of scoring spectacular goals. He has never really fulfilled his potential but i hope and believe Jimmy and Dino will get the best out of him. He has something to prove and at this stage in his career it may just be the stage he needs.

To be honest Terraceman - having a pre-season as tough as ours has the potential to transform anyone who has not really been stretched before. If we are adding a further 10-20% in terms of fitness, plus extra pace. Who knows what could be achieved. We saw it in Jimmy’s first stint with us and we saw it again after Christmas last year. Let’s see what Aaron can do.

This one feels a little bit underwhelming to be honest. As a striker, be it as a poacher, a target man or more rounded central striker his goal return is not great, however at Oldham he had a decent record for assists.
Think he will be behind Hemmings and Moult in the pecking order and is probably an upgrade on Fondop in terms of an option in games against tiring defences.
As we know, Jimmy and Dino will not suffer shirkers so Aaron must have impressed with his efforts on the training ground. Personally would have preferred a younger PL or Championship option on loan as back up striker but hopefully Aaron can impress.
No Oldham crossover with Dino either apparently.

If you include the four academy lads, we now have 32 players on the books.

Jimmy’s made some good signings including Smith last season and now Moult for the coming season. Just a bit concerned at how many average players we’ve signed to play in division 1 this season. I’d have like to have seen a few less and added a bit more quality possibly, and agree with a few about getting a couple of younger players on loan from the Championship or the Prem. It will be interesting to see how we start off and how many players move on...

Hasselbaink looking to add to his defensive options... .... Ryan Leak did well there for us against Leicester... looked solid...
How many does two plus two make....?

I think maybe they would like to see him play again but if he plays to the same standard as he did on Saturday then Ryan Leak will be a Brewer. I would imagine we are no longer interested in Ryan Shotton but you never know

I would imagine we are no longer interested in Ryan Shotton but you never know I wouldn't rule it out... only got Bostwick and Mancienne according to JFH DF: Brayford Hamer Mancienne Oshilaja Bostwick O Connor Shaughnessy Borthwick Jackson Blake Tracey All of the above could play either Full Back/Centre Back or CB/CDM Another out and out CB (Leak) would be ideal and possibly a loan (all dream of Carter but doubt it!) Can't see bostwick playing huge amounts and could be gone in January if we do well Interesting to see he says that Oshilaja could be CDM instead of CB!

I see Dan Crowley is on trial with Cheltenham. He's a player I'd love to see here. Very creative and great with the ball at his feet!

Interesting they also appear to have Dylan Barkers on trial, according to that, who was rumoured to be on trial with us featuring at Nuneaton and Bognor.

Hayden Carter has been made available for loan by Blackburn...
Feel like him and Jebbison would give us great optimism for a top 6 spot!

If Carter had been made available earlier I'd've said 'Go get him again Jimmy' but Leak and Shaughnessy looked the part last night given its early days and they're still getting to know each other....but I don't like to think he'll be lining up for one of our League One opponents... then again would Blackburn loan him to another Championship club? Surely not!

Worth paying closer attention to the online article in this case.
Tony Mowbray has said that Hayden will be available for loan IF Rovers bring in defensive reinforcements first. Also says that it is one thing playing and doing well in the bottom half of League One but the Championship is a different matter and says that having to play his two young centre-backs as opposed to bringing in more experienced options could be the difference between top and bottom half championship finishes.
Would love to see Hayden back and we know Jimmy wants a fourth centre back but Hayden is no longer an unknown quantity so we may face competition for him and Blackburn may want a bigger contribution to his wages after his heroics for us last season.

It’s rare that a club would loan a player to the same club, two seasons running I believe. As they develop more gaining experience with different clubs. But let’s hope Jimmy is very persuasive.

Mowbray seems to indicate that if they go out on loan it will be to League One clubs.
It’s not so rare these days for players to have multiple season loans with one club. Last season we were bottom half League One. This season we have aspirations to be top half League One. Hayden knows the club, Mowbray knows we will look after him. All depends who else fancies taking him now that he is no longer an ‘unknown quantity’ as we may have competition with other clubs prepared to contribute more towards his wages.
