Another cracking read.
It delights me sometimes to see how close my football views are to Nigel's. I just wish I had a tenth of his talent.
Nartey has a big future. I reckon if he's able to stay injury free he'll be a Premier League regular by the time he's 24/25. Delighted that big clubs are trusting us with their talent and I dare say the fact we're such a small club actually helps.
Send them out to us, it's not like they're suddenly thrown into a cauldron of fire with 15-20,000 watching them every week. We're such a lovely little club, with a lovely little stadium, a lovely way of playing. It gives these lads a cracking education out of the limelight and when you look at the results our other loanees have achieved, you can see why clubs want to send us their young lads. Long may it continue.

I made the point in the article that we used to get Championship clubs' loans. Now we get Premier League ones. I'm sure most of the time these clubs pick the clubs they send players to very carefully. I remember when Nicky Law was manager at Alfreton, clubs sent him players if they thought they needed knocking down a peg or two. A hard nut, Nicky. At Burton, they'll get discipline for sure but they'll also play proper football and, as Nigel says, they get a taste of real life away from the spectacular facilities at their parent clubs. If they buy into it, they're good characters.

It could be that our season depends on the fitness of Nartey, he does make a difference and shows what difference pace brings to a defender. f=A cup on Saturday, then looks like a fortnight international break, So 3 weeks before 2 massive away games, It gives him time to get 100% fit

I listened to an interview with young Nartey on Radio Derby a few weeks back.
He was clearly an articulate, intelligent lad and impressively he seemed genuinely thrilled and privileged to be given the chance at Burton Albion.
I guess I’ve seen most of his games and he’s done well. He always wants to play the ball out and set up an attack.
Now to put the cat amongst pigeons! Well it’s a quiet day on here.
If Jake Buxton was fully fit (what is the situation?) I think I’d play Bucko.

Cat amongst the pigeons, this is a bombshell. Ive watched Jake for many years, and always gives 100%, but now a yrd slower, and struggling for fitness, looking at his partner at the back,Wallace or O"Toole high crosses ok, but we would lack pace, and O"Hara already has to many one on one situations. Bucko and Nartey would work if both were fit
