Coventry have the clout to pick and choose players but no ground of their own,We even offered them the Pirelli,Just goes to show we are a proper club tho small. and have our own stadium.

But do they have showers at their training ground?
So so poor from them. Imagine being a league one team without a stadium...

I have just been thinking about the Coventry situation as I have a Cov City supporting mate. Even if they built a new stadium somewhere in the city, the reputation of the Ricoh would surely still get the lion’s share of the corporate business and the cost in this day and age would require massive investment so unless some Russian oligarch or Arab oil baron decides to get involved it’s unlikely. I’ve always felt that ground sharing makes the best business sense for clubs who are close to each other but I’m not sure fans like it too much. Would I travel to watch Burton at Pride Park for home games? Probably I would but I’m not sure Burton-based (proper) fans would. They may as well watch Derby.

^^^ Rugby and football in the same town/city but not two football teams especially from different towns.

Does Rugby tear up the ground too much to maintain a decent playing surface? Multiple use of stadium / grounds makes good sense but I’m not sure I’d want it at Burton.

Yeah, Wigan, Hull, Newport and Cardiff originally had there stadium used for rugby too to name only a few. I seem to remember their pitches looking the worse for wear in the latter parts of the season.

Would be closer to my home Pride park and we could get about 9-5 million for the Pirelli, still have St Georges park for training. Our home gates might improve being in a city perhaps double to 6-000,meaning with away fans we could see gates of 9-000 fans when the big clubs come, and the good news, when we were at home, we would not interfere with the weekend shoppers, they would not know we were there. Now with the new company owning the ground rent is expected to be 11 million per season. 9 million from the pirelli-1-5 million from the league sell boyce for 500-000,that's it we are in. With bigger gates we now have e-s-t 3 million in gate receipts. So in year 2 we have 3 million in gate receipts and holding on to league 1 status 1-5 from football league equals 4-5 million so only 6.5 million short for our seasons rent. So in one season our club would be in a financial mess. This puts in respective how important the Pirelli is to the brewers and relates to our stability and small fan base showing how far we have come as a football league club being so lacking in the financial clout of many league 1 teams and all of the championship teams. And all Burton Albion supporters have got every right to be proud of the team and our very own Stadium the PIRELLI
