Countdown starts now.....with just two weeks to go...June 20th
Then 6 weeks and two days later the first game of the season....August 3rd
Not long to wait is it? Get your summer hols sorted...don't wait till August...(personally I'd prefer a later start - at beginning of September say but the Leagues would have to be smaller I suppose to get all the games in)
August 3rd does seem early, but with the amount of games played it is a long season, starting a month later means finishing a month later June then onto the playoffs. So it will be July until the season ends. The world cup or the Euros start early june. The problem is the amount of games played, but with little t-v money in the E_F_L,clubs cannot afford less games
Hasn't the whole season been brought forward so they can play the World Cup in Qatar or have I just made that up?
In the nicest possible way.... I think you have just made that up 😀.
For a while now the league has kicked off the first or second Saturday of August I think. Just seems early given the first Saturday falls on the 3rd this year.

The seasons will change for 2020/2021 & 2022/2023 for the world Cup I believe. Definitely top tiers in Europe, not sure about lower tiers.
As an aside, there is a footballer who plays (sometimes but not often) 10 miles away from Bury who allegedly earns £1 million in 2½ weeks. And gets £75 grand each time he plays.
Release of the fixtures is like New Years Day for me....out with the old and in with the new ....2019-20 is now this season...
Those last three games could decide who goes up as champions then Ian - Us, Sunderland, Portsmouth or Coventry (I'll not be surprised to see the Sky Blues in the mix...Mark Robbins seems to be making some interesting signings but how will playing at St Andrews affect them?)
Christmas at home with Rochdale and Tranmere then see in New Year 2020 in north east Lancs ....Accy Stan on 29th Dec and Bolton on New Years Day...
Portsmouth away - Tuesday 23rd October, last season; Tuesday September 17th, this season
Fleetwood away (for the lights?) 19th October..... Blackpool away (for the spring sunshine?) 4th April
Two winter long'uns Ipswich away 15th Feb Southend away 22nd Feb...
