A win vs Millwall would be very very good. I mean, they aren't playing for anything other than pride, so hopefully we have em!

Emotionally shot.
Very good game, we were very good first half and looked as if we could contain anything they had to offer. I missed young Jamie's goal (ticket issues) so can't comment on that but from the 5th minute onwards we were on the front foot.
I was going to say world class free kick frm Jacob but I might be feeling a little bit nobodyisgood, I love the lad to bits. Very clever set piece, Boyce standing over the ball, you expect that if the centre forward is there he's going to hit it, otherwise like all good goalscorers he'd have been in the box. It was in from the moment it left the young geniuses foot. He'll play for England mark my words.
Second half I think it's fair to say they pummelled us. I don't think we deliberately stopped playing but they went very direct and threw diagonal after cross after diagonal again into our box. Their goal looked as if it took a scruffy deflection from where I was sitting but to be fair it had been coming. Kyle was a real man of a defender tonight, niggly, narky, solid as a rock and strong. Tom played well again a couple of times brought the ball out beautifully and used it well. Occasionally he gets a bit muddled but overall brilliant incuding what looked like a goal saving block.
We were absolutely dead on our feet for the last 15 and hanging on for dear life. The bravery and honesty was superb to watch but it really was s horrible last tweny five to watch.
I'd say Barnsley deserved a point but I honestly don't give a monkeys about that right now. That win was immeasurably huge. We're back In It boys and girls. Any kind of win on Saturday and it really will have been a special week.
Game on.

Huge win for the brewers tonight. A game of 2 halves. First half we played some great football, passing and keeping it on the floor. Allens shot from the first move of the game was a belter, all 300+ away fans on their feet. Davenports free kick pure class to end the half. Looked like Boycey was going to hit it first. Best half I have seen from us in a long time but Barnsley were poor, endless miss hit balls. Second half totally different, the new manager must have given his team a rocket. Barnsley bombarding us with pressure, scored then we hung on. However nearly fell for Bent but the ball fell behind him otherwise he was in. Then with virtually the last kick the home side have the ball in the net, offside, phew!!! That would of been cruel. Massive 3 point, not good for the ticker that. Cmon you brewers bring on Millwall.

I have not seen a prediction anywhere, that don't give Barnsley any thing but a home win Not counting this forum of coarse. Hope you get a car full broomo. So pleased you can enjoy your football, though, we are living a dream. Hope all goes well at Oakwell, will be thinking of all our supporters in Yorkshire. No takers Trev, it'll just be me on my jack jones again. The spare seats remain spare. If I was sensitive I'd get a bit upset about it, not for the first time this season I'm offering free transport and tickets and can't get anyone to come. Not for the first time this season I've bought someone else a ticket and they STILL hi don't /won't show up despite telling me how delighted they were at my generosity. To pay for tickets and to see them go to waste is heart breaking. 6 times this season I've wasted at least one and sometimes two tickets that I've bought for complete strangers who couldn't afford to go only to be let down. Maybe it's cos I'm outspoken, loud, grumpy or whatever but I'm really struggling to stay in love with our own fans. They're changing. I enjoy my own company though, so it'll be ELO on the stereo and me going mental at Horace Wimp and Mr Blue Skies, exactly the way it used to be all those years ago and exactly how it should be. If the results starts with Barnsley 0 then I'll be going even more mental on the way back to Telephone Lines :-) Maybe too generous hey Broomo. Probably best to save your money in future.

Brewers line up: Bywater Akins Naylor McFadzean Dyer Davenport Samuelsen Allen Akpan Sbarra Boyce Subs: Campbell, Buxton, Barker, Murphy, Bent, McCrory, Varney, Wowee I like it. Would have Murphy over Akpan but this is his last chance I guess! How did Akpan play? I’m not in agreement with your last chance opinion. In the last few games I’ve seen him play, he has done well.

In the last few games I’ve seen him play, he has done well. My last chance reference was only referring to Clough saying 'Hope said, boss give us a few games, so we're giving him a few games'. Fwiw I think he's alright. Improving game on game. Will score soon.

Wowee I like it. Would have Murphy over Akpan but this is his last chance I guess! How did Akpan play? I’m not in agreement with your last chance opinion. In the last few games I’ve seen him play, he has done well. Played well, strong running and hard working BUT he needs to get himself a bit of composure from somewhere, he can't keep missing the kind of chances he missed last night (and Saturday after Bents lay off) due to lack of confidence in his shooting. Fair enough he hit the target both times but when you get that kind of space and time you can't be hitting it down the keepers throat. He was out on his feet with ten minutes left but still kept working hard, certainly very far away from the "hopeless" akpan that some of our more moronic fans labelled him. I'm pleased he got his chance and in the current line up it works quite well. Jacob dictating and buzzing around, Jamie Allen a bit further forward and buzzing around (and with a good eye for a ball as well) and then Hope as the destroyer (minus the crunching tackles). He covers a hell of a lot of ground. Incidentally, I said around 3 weeks ago and I'll say it again, these attacking midfielders are really showing us a little bit of what Matty was missing, or at least wasn't bringing to us. Of course I've not watched their games or anything but I see made his full debut against Wimbledon a couple of days after signing and since then in 3 games he's played one minute. Anyone know if he picked up a knock?

I must confess Broomo I did think the same last night. Since the new signings came in we look a different proposition to what we did with Matty in there, and I was a fan. I did think this board may have been busier today with people realising that we aren’t dead yet - I know it’s been difficult this season particularly at home but all of a sudden we have a little bit of hope. And if we do go down, at least we will have given it more of a go, with Davenport and Samuelsen in midfield and Bent and Boyce upfront. In Clough we trust.

Akpan asked for a chance and now he is having a good run in the team, in a successful spell, The game was as expected, with 10 days rest, they started slow. No one expected Burtons first half performance, and the two goals were gems. Never been here for a long time 2-0 up at half time. Here we go can we keep Barnsley at bay, knocks- bruises and injuries coupled with tiredness Dyer at full back, only- Macfadzene-Naylor - recognised defenders Bywater doing some of his kamikaze tricks ,Mills missing a open goal, some last ditch defending ,a linesman's flag, coupled with a lot of luck. Brought 3 points back to the Pirelli, A fantastic win for the Brewers, all our players gave 110 per-cent, Nice to see Buxton and Varney share the load, with Boyce and Bent playing their part, My nerves are shattered, cannot believe we took all three points, To day is a good day. Still shaking though.

Didn't go last night but delighted with a fantastic result. Arguably the best win of the season in terms of the importance of the game against one of our direct rivals where defeat could have been terminal.
It would be great if we could start getting a few of the injured players back especially defenders as I think we will only get away with playing Lucas and Lloyd as out and out full backs for so long. As much as I admire and rate them they are both better suited to playing further forward. If Damo could get fully fit and maybe Ben I think Tom N, as well as he is doing at centre back, could move to right back if JB is going to be out for an extended period. At least we would have a few more options anyway.
It's great how Allen and Akpan have started to contribute after indifferent first halves of the season and I think the introduction of Davenport has helped those two. Great also that Boyce got 70 minutes under his belt as well so that's him and Bent getting closer to lasting 90 minutes hopefully.
Overall, reasons to start feeling positive and we are definitely still in the mix. It will be tough on Saturday as Millwall have hit a bit of decent form but then so have we so we ought to be looking for 3 points as the games in March look very hard on paper.
Well done to everybody concerned! COYB!!

Glad Akpan is coming on, he does seem to want more time on the ball than this league allows. I noticed against Forest he got dispossessed a few times, that should get better as he gets the games under his belt, at least NC is sticking with him.
I've about calmed down now, must have been hell for those actually there enduring that last few minutes when at 1-2. It was bad enough listening on the radio last night as I was driving back from Nottingham. What a game in prospect Sat, hope we can take the momentum on into that one.
Matty Palmer mentioned above, he's bench warming at Rotherham, used as 90th minute sub once since his debut match. So what's wrong?

I always think of Pink Floyds “wish you were here”- the line “did you exchange a walk on part in a war for a lead role in a cage” line! It’s probably not exactly correct but you know what I mean!!

I remember an interview with Bucko well before Christmas Where he stated the objective was to keep in touch with the last ten games to go, hopefully this plan is coming good because luckily we are still in contention, it’s going to be a lowish tally to stay up maybe as low as 44 required. We’ll see. This I suppose is BAFC in The Championship- outsiders to survive but hopefully finding a way to do so! If we do ,it will be like winning the Champiions League! COYB!
