When I were a lad I used to go "birds egg collecting" in Noose lane Willenhall ! I once went on the Albion players coach there for a game, no one including the driver knew where the ground was, Niel Warnock shouted down the coach to see if anyone knew where it was, gingerly I raised my hand to say I did, I was beckoned to the front seat alongside Mr Warnock and guided the team bus in. I ended up carrying a net full of footballs into the ground and was positioned next to the dug out ! A great memory for me and a return trip would be just fine by me !

First ball drawn, we're home to Peterborough!

Let's hope history repeats itself. The last time we played them in the cup we beat them and went on to draw Man Utd.

Home draw against a decent side, that'll do me...much better than say Didcot away?
At least you know what you're getting.
Wonder if Westley's imposed his cheating, time wasting and diving tactics on Peterborough yet?

We beat them at home in August, no reason why we can't do it again in November, not a draw I would have picked but its at home and its winnable.

Think Posh will be up for this after that late late goal was chalked off against us at the Pirelli earlier in the season, plus having a player sent off. Interestingly we went 4-4-2 in that game. It will be a very tough tie as their form has picked up under Westley. However we are more than capable of beating them.

I wonder how Jimmy will treat this one. Throw in some players that normally won't get a full game, try a different style of play?

As long as we do the job over them again and get our name in the hat for the second round that is all that matters.

I doubt we will be a 'live' game but I wonder whether we will be shunted to Sunday for the BBC 'goals as they happen' show?

From the Peterborough Telegraph....
FA CUP DRAW: Graham Westley: Fortune will favour the brave at Burton Albion
Peterborough United manager Graham Westley insists his team will be brave and positive when travelling to League One rivals Burton Albion in the first round of the FA Cup on November 7.
The tie was the first to be drawn live on the BBC last night (October 26). Burton are currently third in League One, six places and eight points ahead of Posh.
Burton beat Posh 2-1 at the Pirelli Stadium earlier this season in a controversial game. Posh had Gaby Zakuani sent off in that match, but rallied from 2-0 down and were denied a last-gasp equaliser from Jermiane Anderson by a terrible refereeing decision from Graham Salisbury, one that led to a written apology from the matchday assessor.
That was before Westley’s time at Posh. Westley, whose Stevenage side once dumped Premier League Newcastle United out of the FA Cup, said: “I approach all FA Cup ties the same. It doesn’t matter who my team is playing against. FA Cup ties are won by the brave and we will definitely go there in a very positive frame of mind.
“Burton have had a good start to the season, but we are playing well as well now so it should be a good game.”
Posh have only previously been drawn against Burton once before in the FA Cup. Burton, who were then a non-league side managed by Nigel Clough, won that tie in 2005 1-0 in a replay after a 0-0 draw at London Road against Mark Wright’s Posh. That remains the last time Posh were beaten in the first round.
Last season Posh beat League Two side Carlise in the first round before losing to League One rivals Colchester in the second round.
Full first round draw to follow: (Ties scheduled for November 6-9).
Burton Albion v Peterborough United, Port Vale v Maidenhead United, Barnet v Blackpool, Bristol Rovers v Chesham, Cambridge United v Basingstoke Town, Mansfield Town v Oldham Athletic, Altrincham v Barnsley, Crewe v Eastleigh, Northwich/Chorley v Boreham Wood, Coventry City v Northampton Town, Brackley Town v Newport County, Grimsby Town v St Albans City, Hartlepool v Havant/Cheltenham, Salford City v Notts County, Dover v Stourbridge, Stevenage v Gillingham,
Millwall v AFC Fylde, Aldershot v Bradford City, Walsall v Fleetwood, Bury v Wigan, Portsmouth v Macclesfield Town, Sheffield United v Worcester City, Barwell/Rushden v Grays/Welling, Halifax Town/Guiseley v Wycombe, Crawley v Luton, Doncaster v Stalybridge/North Ferriby, Didcot Town v Exeter City, Dagenham v Morecambe, Leyton Orient v Staines, Gainsborough v Shrewsbury, Maidstone v Yeovil, Braintree v Oxford United, Whitehawk v Tranmere/Lincoln, Accrington v York, Scunthorpe v Southend, AFC Wimbledon v Forest Green, Plymouth v Carlisle, FC United of Manchester v Chesterfield, Rochdale v Swindon, Wealdstone v Colchester.
Posh have been drawn away to Dereham Town in the first round of the FA Youth Cup. The date of the tie is yet to be confirmed.
The winners will play either Mansfield Town or Cambridge City away from home in the second round.
