Chesterfield away this weekend.
Thoughts on how we'll line up? What sort of game/score are we expecting?
I'll be getting the coach up with Reg - hopefully i'll see some of you guys there!

McLaughlin
Edwards Mousinho SCS McCrory
Weir Naylor
Akins Duffy JBW
Beavon That's what I'd go with anyway. The good news is we've sold out our initial allocation of tickets. The bad news is (according to someone on social networking) we only got sent 400

I was going to say that I was surprised we had sold out given our usual away attendances...
I'll have to buy them over the phone today!

Looking forward to this one...nice easy away trip at a sensible price.
Don't worry about tickets, they're available at the ticket office at Chesterfield, just behind the away stand but I think it's cash only if I remember correctly?
Unless there's any injuries in training, I would expect an unchanged side from Swindon?
Must be at least 500 going and hopefully far more?

Would be nice to get a good away attendance! May draw in some of the Derby bunch as it's only a 30 min drive and they're at MK Dons.
We go in as 2/1 underdogs, as usual...!

Didn't realise until yesterday that Butcher is one booking from a ban already, so does Jimmy play him anyway and risk getting that booking to "get it over with" and then sub him if he does? Probably is my guess?
Crazy times again and can't wait to get to Chesterfield...drink it all in gentlemen and enjoy the ride.
Still very hard to comprehend for us old bu***rs being at this level...it feels like it used to when we made the first round of the FA Cup, only that feeling comes every week now!
Brilliant and long may it continue 'cause I rather like this feeling!

“It will be another challenge for us to be able to play our game and to take the game to Chesterfield.” It seems that the Dutchman has had a game plan going into every one of the previous eight league games so far this season, of which most of them have been executed to perfection hence the league standings. “I think you need to go there with a plan. “You need to think about how you cannot let them get into their flow. “How can we utilise us to get into our flow? “We will bring our fans with us so at the end of the day we have to make our fans and families proud. 1.0 down after 2 mins. Sounds like a goalkeeping error - possible push in back!!!

4 points clear of automatic now
7 points clear of playoffs
13 points clear of relegation I remember a pretty friendly Chesterfield fan coming on here last season and without meaning to he was patronising about what kind of football we need to play to be successful and how we might be ok if we did make it to League One
Well seems like we are quick learners!!
Absolutely dominated the game stats wise as well
21 shots to 9 in our favour 7 corners to 2
And does anybody care that Binnom Williams got a yellow card for excessive celebrating of the goal - surprised the whole team didn't get yellow carded!

900 Burton fans at the match What a team. We thoroughly deserved the 3 points. They had to clear off the line in the first half and we hit the bar. We were superior throughout. Our defence was excellent. The football was exciting to watch. Even 1-0 down at half time we still looked like a good team. And in the second half we were awesome right through to the end. I'm over the moon. I believe Atkins got booked at the end for coming onto the pitch to celebrate with the other eleven in the behind the goal celebrations as he had been subbed earlier. I might write some more tomorrow when I have calmed down!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...what a fantastic away day!
915 away fans and solid noise from start to finish, which must have lifted the boy's spirits after going down to a calamitous goal in the third minute. Got to say I didn't see much wrong with it and thought the defending was awful and McLaughlin must take a bit of responsibility again?
But after that, there was only one team in it and had Lucas Akins been at the races, we would have been back in the game before half time, when he only had the keeper to beat and didn't even bring a save out of him.
However a mere 35 seconds into the second half and we were witness to Brewer's total football and a lovely passing move with Duffy, El Khayati and Beavon, saw the latter finish from close range after Nasser's initial shot fell free.
Back on top of the league and you could see the players weren't happy with a point and we absolutely battered the Chesterfield goal for 35 of the last 45 minutes. Akins again spurned two chances, skying an open goal shot from 7 yards and hitting the bar minutes later.
Cue Jimmy's tactical genius, bringing on first Binnom-Williams for Duffy and finally Palmer on for Akins.
Binnom-Williams impact was immediate and I have to say if I saw him in full flight towards me as a full back I think I'd step aside and say...After you! Awesome unit in full flight and blistering pace with strength.
Just as time was running out as we thought, the ball was won back in midfield and a lovely weighted ball from Nasser, found Binnom-Williams bearing down on the penalty area like a steam train, shrugging off the Chesterfield right back and cutting in to blast a shot across the helpless Tommy Lee, which nestled in the bottom left corner.
Cue now absolute scenes of joy in the away end and the slamming of seats going up around the rest of the ground.
We weathered a little more added time that the ref seemed determined to find but eventually running out very worthy winners in the finest performance of the season so far.
Top players? O'Connor...awesome replacement for SCS won everything and passed superbly, Beavon...get's better and his holding and heading on, truly top class, Mousinho...top quality leader and never looks flustered.
Overall a cracking day and look out League One, these boys are never beaten until the final whistle!
