Four players who missed the trip to the Moat Ground could see their first pre-season minutes at Mickleover (3pm). Kelvin Maynard and new signing Calum Butcher both missed the Brewers' first friendly with calf injuries while Cansdell-Sherriff and left-back Damien McCrory also missed out. Albion assistant manager David Oldfield expects them to be available today and put their absence down to typical niggles that flare up early in pre-season. "There's just one or two knocks about," said Oldfield. "We've been back for a little bit of time and the ground can be a bit firm, things like that. "Keeping those players out (against Gresley) was purely precautionary, just to make sure everything's okay." Think injury situation is fairly normal for pre-season, Darius Charles will get the best recuperation possible at St Georges and the Pirelli.

Every injured player in the 4 English football leagues can be treated and rehabbed at St. George's regardless of which club they play for. If a club decides to treat them on their own I suppose that is their option. Darius said this in his interview... "AN "unforgettable" meeting with boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink convinced Darius Charles to sign for Burton Albion. He was convinced to commit to the Brewers after a meeting with Hasselbaink – and did not hesitate in signing having spoken to the Brewers boss."
