More than just a football ground, the stadium had to generate income for the club seven days a week and 52 weeks a year and act as a hub for Burton Albion's community activities. I can remember going to the old Eton Park social club to have a look at the plans, artists impressions etc and then going over with Frank Spiers to see the 1st steelwork that had been put in place. Later on in the development I nipped in to see a friend of mine who was working on the construction, I sat in the dugout looking towards the Brookend and said " I can see it now, Cloughie sat here in the 3rd round of the FA Cup against Man Utd, little did I realise that just a few short months later it would actually happen ! I can also remember attending the 1st ever game at the stadium for a pre-season friendly against Chester City. Its proved a shrewd investment by Ben and a happy home for the Brewers.

They originally had the main stand where the Popside is now in the plans but changed the concept after saying that there would be complaints about the sun shining in people's eyes. I thought Derby was the first PSF at the PS as I remember the stadium was not finished and they had to hire in portable toilets for the first couple of games? It was also the same day that Fairclough homes opened their sales centre on EP. Living close to the ground it was an interesting time with the PS being built and the demolition of EP going on at the same time. I remember one night in the February before ithe PS opened people laying concrete at 2am one morning as I think they were a little behind schedule at the time.
