I'm quite happy with the current format, but I do like the idea of all newspaper links being put on one thread. As TM said thanks Norah for keeping the forum going .

I know I'm in the minority but I'd like to see everything in the same section. Thread titles should make the subject obvious, so it should be easy for the user to ignore what he / she isn't interested in reading.

I totally agree - the board isn't big enough or busy enough to have so many sections in my opinion.

I agree with last two posts. This is a very small forum compared to most although gradually getting busier and just needs a small amount of tidying up from time to time I think.

However, I also believe a sticky thread with all media articles would be useful. As is the signings and contracts one we now have.

I don't think having only one section with all posts is the solution. People only need to tweak their settings to land on the homepage and navigate to sun-sections from there.
and I wonder if someone can explain the reasoning and functionality behind the "all media links in one thread" idea? I don't understand it, maybe I'm missing something. eg: If there is a match report thread on a game and someone wanted to post a link to the BBC report and highlights, that link would go in a different thread? Or a BM newspaper article about that match would go in a different thread? And all comments/stories with a media link would go in one thread (our match reports, other teams managers sacking, FA laws discussion, Pub closures, etc.). Am I understanding or am I missing something?

I'm not sure ED is in a small minority. I also think there is no need for different sections, with sticky's still used as needed. The main problem though regarding sticking media updates is the section becomes too long and in my view needs culling regularly. Having visited forums where everything is discussed under one or two main headings only. It is easier to find and comment on the various topics, or avoid them by bypassing them.

As far as media links is concerned I am sure at one stage we had a thread which was updated daily , I think very kindly by Norah, will all of the Burton Mail/Derby telegraph/club website links to Burton Albion related news items. This, to me, is much better than having multiple threads repeatedly being linked to the same news articles for different reasons. It also means that forum users know straight away where to go to to find links to the local newspaper pieces. Doesn't mean we can't have separate discussion threads around things that are in the news but repeated copying and pasting of links becomes somewhat tedious.

I think that there is probably only the need for one section. - most people post stuff on here that they think relates to the Brewers in some way (occasionally football in general) that's what the forum is about.
The key is to have well titled threads, so if it then doesn't interest you, you don't have to read it eg "Hasselbaink to Leeds rumour" something I'm not likely to bother reading, but I respect the fact that others may wish to speculate, share their fears/hopes about such an unlikely prospect.
I think we're pretty darn good at heading things on the whole tho' so it's not an issue and this makes using the forum easy. I'm not really in favour of grouping too much stuff in one thread either - like (but also the opposite!) of having loads of sections, it all gets too difficult deciding if it fits here or not and threads get so long you can't find anything.
For instance, I think the thread on "New, potential contracts/offers" is getting too long already - much better I think to have a thread under heading of each player's name.....
Sometimes it all really doesn't matter - live and let live - in the past, sometimes we've had three threads for pre-match, live posts, and post match analysis and then sometimes they've been amalgamated in one thread - does it matter?
And people will always break rules - sometimes to be provocative, sometimes because they think they don't make sense and sometimes in ignorance. Then we will get other people kindly "correcting" them and then the board starts to take on a tone of somewhere between petty and nasty.
My advice (for what it's worth) - together with my thanks - to you Norah is to maintain your lightness of touch and to my fellow Brewers fans - be tolerant and join with all Brewers fans to milk these wonderfully good times for all their worth for .......... nothing lasts forever.......

Pretty much what everard says really, I think we are in the main mature enough, perhaps we should(myself included) check other thread titles before posting a new one, although it does happen that you do that, i.e. a match report, no one has already posted so you start a new thread and by the time you have posted someone else has done so at the same time as yourself ! I'm quite happy to o along with whatever is decided to be honest just as long as we all keep contributing.

also agree pretty much with what everard said, except for the one location for everything. If anyone can copy and paste a link to another forum that does this...? we could all have a look.
It would be good for norah I think if more users with an opinion on this posted something. We have 407 members and around 10 of us have posted relative comments.

If you take a look at Shrewsbury Town Blue and Amber that seems to have only one main page and is easy to follow.

Can't decide if ur takin the piss or not If ur serious that is not a very good example. That forum has 6 different sections, like ours, and the main one that you linked to they are talking about where they're going on holiday and furniture for sale. Ok, it's off season but at least we are talking football.

Right ..the tinkering has started... please be understanding because quite frankly I haven't a clue what I am doing....
MOBILE PHONE USERS.... having slightly changed that name of the Brewers Talk part of the forum, can you tell me if it still comes up as simply, Brewers Talk or NOW Brewers talk: All about the Albion.
I ask this because to me the most important thing about the changes that I am hoping to make is that the site is as efficient for mobile phone users as possible.
