tims92.blogspot.co.uk/2011/03/burton-albion-eton-park-ground-no.htmlStill laid up with the old bad back I have been amusing myself looking at football grounds from all over the UK. Imagine my delight when I came across this wonderful set of photographs etc of the very last game played at Eton Park. I was there and saw the very last appearance of club legend Phil Annable in an Albion shirt. Looking at the pictures bought back many happy memories, a few painful ones as well but it doesn't half show you how far we have come. To those fans who have come on board since we moved to the Pirelli stadium this is where it all started for me although I appreciate some go even further back to the Lloyds foundry ground in Wellington Street. Happy viewing !

I never went to Eton Park but remember driving past it with my parents, looked like a decent ground for the level

Yes, a great find indeed! Thanks for posting, it gives me another link to/vision of the earlier days and the clubs history and sort of brings things together from a broader perspective. It is much more of a football ground than I had imagined, for some reason, maybe I had formed a view based on stories that I had heard from people.? I wonder if funky can see his house in the pictures.?

The last picture in the group reminds me of one of the things I do remember, that of the superior scran served from the 3 tea bars, hot oxtail soup and much better quality mushy peas, faggots, pies and mint sauce, etc, plus usually a bit of banter and service with a smile. I don't buy anything nowadays at the Pirelli as last time I got faggots and peas I was given a chip fork, when I asked for a plastic fork or spoon(like at Eton Park) all I got in return was a grunt from a school kid. Not everything has changed for the best !

I think the pictures make Eton Park look a bit decrepit and to be fair the ground was winding down with the new stadium rising across the road. However, I always found it comfortable with good facilities for home and away fans, much better than many of the grounds we visited then and even some of those we visit in League Two.
