I think we should congratulate the club on last night's pitch. We had a load of rain prior to the day of the game, then all of Monday before and during the match. The pitch was in truth very difficult to play football on, but I would venture that at most league 2 and perhaps league 1 grounds, the game would have been postponed. Throughout the game in spite of the continuous rain very little further deterioration took place. This must be due to the pitch being properly prepared during the summer, for the grass and drainage, and this followed by sound dedication by our groundsman and the staff. Well done!!!

Yes indeed, not many pitches would have been played on in those conditions. So, well done Simon and Nick. The pitched was replaced last summer, here is a comment from Nick's FB post at the time.
"the top 3cm or so off, cut grooves filled with sand, top dressed with new soil, spiked, rolled and seeded."
