Didn't Michael Alexis get the record for shortest time on the pitch in a Brewers shirt? Don't know but Nialle Rodney got the record for shittest time on the pitch in a Brewers shirt.

I saw a good interview with JFH on sky after the match
He said we played well, defended well and broke well but final pass was missing
He said he took off the new lad (I've forgot his name!! Lol) to protect his hamstring so he could be involved next saturday

Great three points. 7 clear of pack now thanks to Wycombe equaliser.
I'm sure there will be plenty of twists before the end of the season...but it's a nice feeling to be top!
5 wins from 11 will do it I'm sure.

I think we are 8 points clear actually.
5 wins will def do it
But like today every win will be hard work. Nothing comes easy in this league.

Pools fans on another forum calling us Mickey Mouse as we took so few! Reckon more will go to tranmere Mickey mouse? Yet we will be playing League football (perhaps in League 1) next season and they most certainly will not In fact most likely won't be in the League full stop Obviously we are run and managed way more professionally than they are

Re Hartlepool fans calling us Mickey Mouse
Their average attendance is just 400 a week more than ours despite the fact the internet says 25000 more people live in Hartlepool than Burton and they've been playing League football about 80 years longer than us!
Since 1920 they've been finishing near the bottom of League 2 more often than not
Never got higher than League One
Their two biggest claims to fame in football are that Jeff Stelling supports them (almost in a comedy way tbh)
And that Brian Clough used to manage them
I remember reading that when BC was their manager they were so Mickey mouse that he had to get the players to help him paint the stadium and that he used to have to drive the team bus himself
Of all the clubs to call us Mickey Mouse it makes me laugh that they would
They should take a long hard look at themselves
Non league football might be where they find their real level

If they didn't have such a high opinion of themselves, in terms of charging us Premier League prices to watch a non-league club in waiting, then I would probably have gone? Sour grapes from the monkey hangers...shame as I did feel a bit sorry for them, with their drastic fall from grace and the Clough connection but not now...see you in the FA Cup possibly, if you qualify for the first round!

They'll find a bit of humility in non league. Sounds like they need it. I do hope they're looking forward to their midweek trips to Braintree and Dover next season.
I didn't go because I didn't want travel 3 hours to the arse crack of nowhere to pay WAY over the odds so a club that's already being run into oblivion can go and pish it away again. I love watching my hometown club but there comes a point where you have to refuse to pay the over inflated prices that tinpot outfits like Hartlepool charge to watch half a pitch and half the back of either a goalpost or a huge white upright.
Y'know, as much as I love what my club is doing in the football league, I'm getting pig sick of all this bitterness and sour grapes that's coming from these "established" clubs who are crying to Mummy that little Burton Albion are beating them. I don't feel sorry for them one bit because now we're seeing how good their support REALLY is. Their average attendances have plummeted as times have got harder and harder. Scarborough, anyone? Oh, and I won't even get started on football having descended into some bizarre contest about how many supporters you've got = how good or successful a football club you are. It's f**king stupid and tinpot.
I'll be at Tranmere because they're a proper football club charging proper league two prices. I hope they stay up (after we've beaten them of course) and personally I hope Hartlepool rot in non league for decades to come. I think they'll end up in the Conference North before they even make a reappearance in league two.
Up the f**king Brewers.

Didn't get up the A1 on Saturday but having seen the goal on the Football League Show over the week-end, I thought I shouldn't let things roll on to the next game without underlining the part played by Stuart Beavon in it. Yes, it still needed Cuvelier to finish it off but Bevs created it, showing great drive, persistence and skill to get past defenders and into space and then with the vision and touch to put Cuvalier through on goal - still going strong and looking for the winner with the 90 mins. nearly up.......great stuff......

Quote from Ronnie Moore after the game. "I can't believe they are so high in the league based on that performance. I wouldn't be queuing up to take too many of their players and I doubt they'd be queuing for too many of ours. Cheeky git.

TBH
I don't think we are that great a team and I can see where he is coming from.
We made hard work of beating them and we have struggled last couple of weeks full stop.
I think we may well be over achieving a bit. Just need to get 5 more wins and get over the finish line.

I'm not convinced that we're overachieving. L2 this year is a very competitive league with lots of tight low scoring games. There is no outstanding team - it's anyone's league to win. Depending on your perspective, this competitiveness could be a sign of high quality defences or poor quality strikeforces (or more likely, a bit of both). Every team has struggled at some point this season. The team that is in first place after 46 games will have deserved it.
I know some people are concerned because they don't see us (or anyone else for that matter) running away with the league, and assume that whoever goes up will come straight back down. I'm not sure how true this is. I think a hard-earned promotion based on a solid defence and excellent game management resulting in lots of tight wins (11/20 wins for us by a single goal) would actually stand us in good stead for L1. Having a mentality of being difficult to beat would be very useful in terms of avoiding relegation. If we were to go up having blown other teams away with goals, it would be quite difficult then to adjust to the exact opposite mentality the following season to avoid relegation. On top of this, we already know that the club (and Ben) have a solid history of doing the right thing at the right time, investing in the future, making good strategic decisions, and building slowly and steadily. So I'm confident that the right decisions would be taken regarding player recruitment etc. IF we get promoted.
