Next two months is where we find out just how good JFH is
He's got to steady the ship and keep a calm head
You read that article and all the solutions sound disruptive

Not good news but could explain his recent poor performance, trying to stay fit? MacFadzean has been back training with us this week plus Jimmy talks of another CM and Striker coming in.
The versatility of Maynard being able to play RB would allow Phil to go into CM (I prefer that option), but he may prefer to put Tafty back in there? In midfield I think we have missed Matty but the question is, is he ready to go straight back into the squad as a starter? I wonder if that lad Bryn Morris from Boro would be considered for another loan? As for getting a striker in, tough time of the season for any quality so maybe someone in for cover? Perhaps Beavs back isn't good? Can MAC, Nasser help Gurks up front?
I don't think we will see wholesale changes on Sat. but CM has to be sorted out. Lenny has been great for us but it wasn't all down to him. Lots of questions, but personally I think this is when we will find out what the players are made of.

I think young Tafty was a tad unlucky to be dropped in the 1st place , he's raw & a bit inexperienced but I think he gives us a real presence at the back & such a shame Lenihan has been recalled but it was inevitable I suppose what with Blackburns injury situation

I really don't see Phil as being a centre midfield option and to be honest I don't see him as a centre half either. Wouldn't change the defence (Taft is left sided so wouldn't comfortably release Moose to go into midfield) So I think Naylor is the obvious like for like replacement, hopefully Palmer will be able to play some of the game too, we need a better passer in there. Happy to have McFadzean back (if he rejoins), gives us options off the bench and is prepared to do the breaking runs that we seem to miss from the other midfielders.

When Naylor has come on previously we have played very deep.

Lenny is on the bench for Blackburn tonight, maybe he'll be back for the Pools game

Lenny was on the bench again yesterday for the FA Cup game vs Liverpool. What a thrill that must have been for him. As appreciative as we are for having him here I'm sure he is also very appreciative for the opportunity and experience he got with us, starting virtually every game under Jimmy.
