Premier League TV Rights Deal£5.136bn for the period 2016-2019. A 71% increase on the previous 5 year period. Sky and BT will now apparently show live Premier League games on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Premier League have claimed the increase will lead to £56m being invested in grass roots football but I think we all know that it will end up in players bank accounts. Ridiculous sum of money I think. The game is almost disappearing out of sight for regular punters who actually go to games.

You would think that clubs in the Premier league would be able to drop the admission prices for those who actually turn up at the ground to watch but I think we all know that is highly unlikely to be the case. Does anyone know who this or if this will benefit clubs like Burton Albion and lower down the pyramid ? Personally I hope Sky have got it all wrong and their Sky sports packages become too expensive for most and punters leave them in droves and create a serious problem. My mate at work told me each Premier division club will get on average 11.2 million pounds per game, is that correct ? Ludicrous if that is the case in my opinion.

On the news they said each game was costing Sky 10.2 million, how much of that goes to the teams playing in said game was not mentioned. Either way the amount is obscene and again I will not be subscribing.

I am currently a Sky Sports subscriber and I have to admit that it will be a wrench to unsubscribe as I really enjoy the football and other sports such as rugby league on there. I'm seriously considering cancelling though as I think it's getting out of control.
The team that finishes bottom of the Premier League will receive £100m "prize money" and will automatically put them into the top 30 richest clubs in the world along with the rest of the Premier League. Two thirds of the richest clubs in the world will be English. To put it into context the Scottish League Champions receive £2.5m prize money.

I do but mainly for the cricket and rugby league - football is incidental to me.
