The shortest month of the year is the biggest and most significant for us for this reason:- Each of the six matches will be a huge challenge in their own way, but they are all winnable when compared to what I believe is a very tough March and a potentially season-breaking April.
We must make the most of February's matches as it is likely that points will be much harder to pick up in March. Ideally and most importantly, we need to get to April not needing very much to secure a top 3 place.
I think that the race for the top 3 will go to the wire, with a record points total needed for anyone to grab 3rd place. I keep telling myself that we don't need to be in third place until the end of match 46, but I keep looking at the current league table. Having been a fan for 45 years I ought to know better and remember that nothing is earned comfortably for BAFC.

My thoughts are similar Frank, on another forum I put us down for 16 points in February ! A total I think is achievable ! Mid March home to Sarfend on a Wednesday night will be a massive game and the start of a hard run in. Games at home to Wycombe, Newport and a rejuvenated Northampton and away games at Luton, Plymouth and a final game at Cambridge United which has never been a happy hunting ground for us. To be honest I think there are 5 sides in with a chance of the top three, ourselves, Shrewsbury, Wycombe, Luton and Southend. Myself I think we are getting stronger and of the others they all seem short of goals except Shrewsbury so I am fairly confident as long as we don't get any major injuries or suspensions to key players. Of the 3 seasons we have challenged for promotion I think this is the best side we have had.

I think Jimmys first month would possibly count as the tougest run of the season, considering the teams and where they were in the table, Wycombe, Luton, Shrews, Exeter, Hartlepool and we got 10pts from 15. Aside from the fact that we have 5 games in 19 (or 6 in 22) days in February the competition in Feb and March doesn't look nearly as tough, on paper at least. But April is looking like squeaky bum time with 6 games in 23 days vs some good teams. I am fairly confident that come April 1st we will have a comfortable point spread above the playoff contenders, enough to see us through to League 1. But, there are many things that could interfere with that, notably injuries. I agree the current team is best side I have seen at the Pirelli.

For me, we either win the league in first place or finish below the play-offs. I'm not interested in any other final place. Champions or survivors. End of.

My prediction from Feb.9th came true and it still seems highly likely that we are going up automatically. We have a 10 point lead over Bury with 21 to play for. Even if they get all 24 (which is highly unlikely) we only need 14 (considering the current +11GD we have over them), which is 2.0ppg and our average over Jimmys 23 games is 2.09ppg. If we continue to play the way we have been I think we just might hit 90 points (1.85ppg). COYB!!!!

Hopefully my prediction of Winning The League next Sat. At home does as well! If not I can wait until Cambridge!!! COYB!

When we win on Sat., and if Shrews don't win at Cheltenham (don't hold your breath, but Cheltenham have something to play for too) then we've won the League. Surely there would be some sort of celebration in the works?
