Not trying to stop the guys that were there giving us the views from the great victory at Cheltenham today.
But Tuesday v the Wombles will be a big game. They really turned us over at their place - we were lucky to get nil that night. So as with Bury who stuffed us at their place, it will be interesting to see if we can improve and reverse the outcome.
Not a guaranteed 3 pointer for me but hoping for the best :-)

They dont travel that well. I expect a home win - 1 0.. Don't expect many goals imo.
Crowd about 2300 tops.

They seem to beat the teams above them in the league and lose to those below them. Tuesday will be a bit like today inasmuch that if the Brewers are looking to finish in the top 3, they need to win games like this. And as we all know, there are no easy games in this league!

Wimbledon seem to be able to raise their game against the top sides so I expect a very tough game, We were just unable to handle Akinfenwa at their place and that is the key to beating Wimbledon. Really looking forward to this match.

Brewers were top of the league the last time we played Wimbledon and will again be top of the pile this Tuesday.
Remember the match at Wimbledon clearly because surprisingly it certainly wasn't the top of the table performance that I was looking forward to and expecting. Very disappointing to see Brewers seemingly knocked 'out of their stride' by the physical style of play by Wimbledon on the night.
Without wishing to detract from the magnificent achievement of Gary Rowett and his staff to maintain the steady progress of Burton Albion I believe that JFH has added a toughness to the team. Combine this combative toughness with the improved goals tally in recent weeks by several different scorers I am quietly confident that there is less chance of Brewers having an Off night on Tuesday. Certainly hope not as I'm loving this 'Top of the Table' good, good feeling, may it continue all season long.

Really looking forward to this match. Yes, I think this will a tough game., and looking forward to it! Akinfenwa is a brute and we haven't been able to handle in the past when he is on his game. He scored both their goals today, so let's hope he's tired. I wouldn't be surprised to see SCS come in to partner The Moose to try to shut him down, with Robbie helping as well. Jimmy may also choose to go with one striker, but again I hope not.

Do we not need someone more physical than SCS on akinfenwa though
I think Mousinho might do the job
I remember when they beat us thinking they were going to go on a run and challenge promotion
But clearly other clubs have handled akinfenwa well

I doubt we will make the same mistake on Tuesday.

Moose would be the muscle but I think SCS is a better reader of the game than Taft is right now so he might be able to anticipate and intercept play before "The Beast" get too dangerous. We'll see.

Without wishing to tempt fate it's always seemed to me that Akinfenwa is an entirely different proposition away from home...only two goals away from Kingsmeadow this season. He also tends to start tailing off around this time of year so I've got every faith that he'll be kept quiet on Tuesday night.
Nothing to fear from this one for me. Convincing win.

A Tuesday night game probably plays in to our hands as I've always seen Akinfenwa as someone who plays well when he's got a lot of support as you say he normally scores a lot more at home!!

An update on changes at Wimbledon during this past window
In David Connolly: AFC Wimbledon sign veteran striker.(Pompey fans not happy they let him go?, he played 70mins on sat so imagine Azeez or Tanner will start) Alfie Potter from Oxford Craig Tanner: AFC Wimbledon sign Reading striker on loan (just signed 2 1/2 contract at Reading and then loaned to wombles)
Out Tubbs Harry Pell: Eastleigh sign midfielder from AFC Wimbledon Alan Bennett: AFC Wimbledon captain returns to Cork City Kevin Sainte-Luce: Gateshead sign ex-AFC Wimbledon winger

On the football side it would seem doubtful if Jacob Blyth will be fit to play, I'm guessing I suppose but I havn't heard exactly how serious his injury is. Myself I'd bang Akins up top with Beavon and give Calero a start out wide right. I'm expecting the Dons to try and out muscle us the same as they did at their place and a feisty game to be honest.

the usual 5 suspects are going and possibly 2 more. I have often said on here that Akins should get a look up front, but with the new players we have I would like to see Nasser have go at hitting the net.
