Quite a few write ups about him - attacking midfielder fast feet, plays for Spain Under 19s and tipped to be star of the future
Would be good little addition I think

Played at every Spanish international youth level so far and also the "B" and "C" Atletico Madrid teams. That right there is the sort of player you build a team round.
If we get him then he has to play every week, surely? Would be a huge signing and a major coup.
I appreciate we have a settled, winning team but look at the pedigree of this kid!

Spanish midfielder? Uhhh, sign him up on loan? Yes! But if he is to go straight into the team, who sits? Perhaps there are concerns about Macca and Lucas being ready in the short-term,? Perhaps Jimmy wants a midfielder to sit behind Bevs and Blyth to feed them more? The way our midfield are playing right now I'm not sure that I would mess with that. But certainly as a player to come in and learn our style and be ready to fill in when needed, yes!

If a player comes in and improves the team then the player that misses out has to play better to get back in or sits on the bench, don't care who it is. That is football. JFH already shown he does not have favourites...

I have to agree with funky here, if we signed Christiano Ronaldo and the forward line were already doing well, would we leave him on the bench ? Of course not. If Ivan Calero comes in on loan and gives us more options then surely he will play, automatic promotion is the aim and surely his calibre is better than what we already have. If the deal comes off and it works we will have a greater chance of promotion.

Absolutely, if we knew now that he was going be an immediate positive influence and improve the squad then yes throw him in as soon as/if he signs. But we don't know that, and it would mean Maynard and Akins sit or Macca and Matty sit depending on where he plays. It's a big decision, but if he signs I think he will be on the bench and come on as a sub for a couple of games first.

I would think JFH will have already determined what he needs to know by having him training with us. A lot of ifs and buts at the moment but potentially a very exciting signing.

Maybe, (and I have absolutely no inside knowledge on this and hope I am wrong) Blackburn are playing hardball about Darragh's loan and this lad, although a different style of midfielder is being lined up as a replacement.....
As I say, hope I am wrong on that but a possibility nonetheless.
Jimmy has said we need to create more for our strikers. This lad could be the answer to that.

Well he's training with us and he's clearly top quality. Players like Palmer and Harness can only learn from any good habits he has.
I think it's great that JFH seems to have a good relationship with Derby. If they get promoted then there should be plenty of opportunities for more of their young players to get experience with us.

Us scoring goals from all positions since Beavon and Blyth have been starting games can't be a coincidence, surely? Beavon pulls players all over the park and creates for others and Blyth is just a constant irritation for opposition central defenders. Obviously creating more chances for Beavon and Blyth will eventually lead to more goals for both but if you take into consideration the possibility of a "MacDonald, Calero, Lenihan, Akins" midfield, with the exception of Lenihan there's loads of goals in that lot! I'd say either Weir or Palmer will be benched although your point about Lenihan may have legs. We'll see.

A good contact I know that supports the Rams suggests he is normally a wide player who also plays in behind a striker or strikers. Perhaps he could be the answer on the left while Alex is out and provide competition in that area. Could be the new Zeli!

But Zeli is a right midfielder?
I'm not down on this kid but lets be realistic. He played 20 mins against Charlton in the League cup in August and scored, then 13 minutes in a league game vs Forest in Sept, and 7 mins in a league game vs Wolves in Nov. coming on when the Rams were up 5-0. Let's not get carried away here. 40 minutes total.
look at our results over the last 10 games. The entire midfield have been playing out of their skin and have been the best midfield that I have seen here. It would be a brave decision to reward one of them with a seat on the bench. let's not get too giddy until he signs.

Of course Zeli is a right winger and this guy, supposedly a left winger but my point was whichever side he plays, hopefully he is a player who will excite and get fans on the edge of their seats.
The midfield has been playing well but in the absence of Alex on the left we have been crying out for a winger who can go past people and deliver crosses. I really like Matty but a left winger he is not.

But Matty is filling in for Macca on the left though, and he is nearly ready. Still, a big decision to sit him though IMO. Of late we have goals from 6 set pieces, Matty scored one and assisted on the other 5.

Anyway if the lad signs he may or may not get into the team and he may or may not be better than the current midfielders, the manager will determine that, and that's that really FFS.

At the very least with his pedigree he would give us good options from the bench if we need to change the game
But it's good we are looking at him in training first before committing to a loan
If we loaned him and then didn't involve him then Derby wouldn't have gained from the deal
If we can identify their upcoming players and give experience then could be good ongoing.
