Both these guys could still do a decent job at a League 2 or Conference club. If one or both sign for a League 2 club, I hope this decision doesn't come back to bite us somewhere, so to speak.

Let's hijack a thread and do a keyboard bully attack on a Burton Albion player coming back from injury and being given the opportunity to prove himself. Do you strangle puppies in your spare time?

I'm quite sad to be losing 2 players who IMO are still good enough for us, but on the other hand it shows that our new manager knows what he wants to do and is not affraid to make tough decisions, I will reserve judgment on it being the right thing to do until I see the calibre of the replacements (hopefully they will be better ).

Unfortunately for Sharps, getting injured and mousinho being a revelation at CB has cost him dear. Sharps is still a class act at L2 level. I would like to see Sharps stay on the books at least until the end of the season. As for Bell, his time is probably up at Albion, but I agree with most at L2 / Conf level he would be an excellent addition to a lot of teams. Any team in the bottom half of L2 who need a leader in the centre of their defence or midfield could do a lot worst than these guys.
It's going to be interesting to see where JFH wants to spend the extra wages when released. Everybody in L2 is looking for that elusive 20+ goal striker, but we are only 5 goals behind the leagues top scorers. Thankfully everybody is contributing and chipping in with goals which I would prefer rather than relying on one guy. Don't get me wrong a consistent scoring forward never hurts! It's the goals conceded which is having the impact on our GD, but looking at the results since JFH joined this has also improved.
This is maybe another thread but any body with a wish list ? Chucking a few names into the hat, Mason Bennett must be due another run out on loan since Bent has joined the Rams, Akinde and Luke Young seem to be the highlights in the conference but a fee would be attached. Going further down the leagues ex Brewer Matt Paterson maybe worth another look ( still only 25), banging in the goals and actually thought he has half decent for us, just never got a proper run of games together.
Half expecting JFH to come up with an un known from the Belgium leagues.

Wonder what the chances are of persuading Lenihan to join on a permanent deal.

With Blackburn under a transfer embargo to the end of the season at least, I would be surprised if they let many, if any players leave permanently in January.

"Half expecting JFH to come up with an un known from the Belgium leagues." ...Or maybe the Greek Super League?
"the chances are of persuading Lenihan to join on a permanent deal." ...I'd say slim to none, too expensive for us right now (maybe when we get promotion money?) and i think Rovers will want to give him a look at least. I am hoping for a loan extension though, hopefully to end of season but i'd guess even that is a bit slim.

Wouldn't be blaming them if they were.
In the alternative, if they are of interest to Mansfield, that may be the reason for the delay.

It was in response to your comment on the story. If they are waiting for the best deal they can get, I wouldn't blame them. If though they are being lined up by Mansfield, that would explain why there is a delay that may be resolved next wee. Either way I wish them both the very best.

Ok, I get it now. Yes, I would think both would want to go to a team they can help either stay up or get promoted so, I can't blame them either. I hope it gets resolved sooner than later for their sake and for our sake so we can use the money to help sign another player.

The fact Sharps and Bell were both on the bench I believe and Sharps actually used suggests this is a football decision rather than a bust up with either or both of them
Which is re-assuring for me
Wouldn't want a manager who can't handle experienced players in his dressing room

That has been the story in interviews from day one from Jimmy and both players. It is only those who who have a big stir-stick who suggested otherwise.
