I have explained the 28 day bit before, but you obviously choose not to remember that one.....It only applies to the initial 28 days of the loan being the minimum length. After that it can be extended for any period, up to the player's 21st birthday......no break clause required. I must gave missed that, when did you explain the 28 day bit. I know the initial has to be for 28 days, it says that in the quote I posted above and previously. But what does a break clause mean? you never answered my question above about what would be the reason behind an emergency loan? Thanks, I'm just wondering what an emergency would require. Do we need to be in some sort of emergency situation where we don't have enough midfielders of something?

Not sure what a break clause means. I assume it means you can send them back to their parent club whilst agreeing to take them back at a future point.
Not 100% sure of what constitutes an emergency but generally, I think, you have to show that you have lost a player from the squad, either through injury, suspension. Ironically you can lose a player to a one game suspension, but then sign an emergency loan.....which is for a minimum of 28 days! Also there is nothing that states that, for example, if a striker is injured/suspended/unavailable you have to replace them with a like for like position player.....you could sign a right back and use the striker as the excuse/emergency.
I guess with Darragh, quite feasibly you could say that we are losing Darragh (due to youth loan running out) and replacing him with......Darragh!
Jimmy seems quite confident that it is sorted anyway.

The fact that one of the best midfielders we've ever had here is only on a month by month youth loan does make me chuckle a little it's scary how far this kid can go considering he's only 20 and is still developing and learning.

Hasselbaink gave the Irish U21 international his first start in a Brewers shirt – and he reckons Lenihan can go far in the game. "I think he is a young man who can become whatever he wants to become in football," said the manager. "That's refreshing to see, a young man with his career ahead of him and a long way to go, but I really believe this, not because he's playing in my team, he's got the qualities. It's just a case of understanding the game a little bit better." I really like Lenihan, he reminds me of a young Roy Keane. If Blackburn let him go I would sign him tomorrow but I think that extremely unlikely.

"I had two years out of the game from when I was 17 to 19 with a double stress fracture of my back and one or two little niggles," said the Irish U21 international. "This year has been fantastic and I couldn't have imagined it would go this well. "I said last year if I was on loan at a team looking to win promotion that was my aim. "Touch wood I can fulfil my aim at Burton in the next few months. "It's a great club to come on loan to and I'd like the club to be in League One this time next year. That's the plan anyway."
