Yeah, looking like he will probably go out on loan. Suppose it depends on several factors like if a L1 team comes sniffing around with £££ for a loan deal, or if Zeli prefers to come back here or....who knows. I think its good that he stays with Wolves as long as possible though to get that edge in training and hunger to improve at a higher level. Fingers crossed!

I agree there, its not going to happen until near the start of the season (if it happens at all) and it will depend on any league 1 clubs coming up with an offer. Zeli is going to want to test himself at the highest level possible. I think he really enjoyed his time with us and if I remember rightly whether he was fit or not he wanted to travel with the players to the semi-final and play off final last season. Also on the plus side for us is that the set up here is exactly the same as when he left and the vast majority of the playing staff are still with us, some of which hopefully have become friends. I have no idea what say if any Zeli will get on where he goes but I think our offer is on the table and he knows that. We will have to bide our time and hope it comes off, if it doesn't it won't be for the want of trying and certainly not the end of the world, more like a bit of extra icing on the cake !

I read the article and am marginally excited. I hope Zeli smashes it at Wolves and gets into their first team, but if not, then I think we have an excellent chance!!!

From the Evening Express...
HomeSportFootballThe Dons THE DONS Dons close in on winger Zeli Ismail
BY ANTHONY JOSEPH, 9 JUL 2014 1.12PM
ABERDEEN FC this afternoon confirmed they were close to agreeing a loan move for Zeli Ismail.
The 20-year-old Wolves winger, who was born in Albania, is set to join the Pittodrie club on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
A spokesman for the English Championship club could not comment on the possible move at this stage.
Evening Express sports editor Charlie Allan is in Riga with the Dons ahead of their Europa League second-leg clash with FK Daugava Riga.
The club confirmed to him that they hope to finalise a deal with the midfielder when they return from their Latvian trip.
Ismail has had loan spells at Burton Albion and MK Dons.
He’s made 11 appearances for the Wolves first team.
Burton Albion are also keen to bring the winger back after a successful loan spell last season with the League Two side.

Not surprised and not the end of the world, at least we tried. Good luck to Zeli if it comes off. I'm fast going off Aberdeen !

All the best to Zeli...he did well for us and added some real excitement on the pitch and in our forums, something hard to find amidst the moaners.

Would have been nice if he signed again but I suspect he could be the type to miss half the matches every season with hamstring pulls etc
So there will now be decent budget for someone else who might contribute a little bit less but play more matches
That's me trying to put a positive spin on it if he doesn't sign as I would have liked him to come back!

I'm beginning to think that there must be a Dons spy/scout somewhere in our midst on the Pirelli terraces ......come on out Jock wherever you are?

Got to say a huge mistake being made here, ask Calvin Zola. Division 2 may not be the most attractive football but it's a lot better than Scottish football, I watch a lot of football on TV whether it be Scottish, English or Irish and Scottish is absolute dire, even Celtic champions of Scotland league football at times make it look like pub football. Zeli is a good player far to good to be wasted in Scottish football, certainly won't learn anything from Aberdeen .

Woz, you have not got a clue about Scottish football. Not only am I an Albion season ticket holder I also have a season ticket of a Scottish club, and I can tell you not one second division club would see out the season playing against Scottish premier clubs. The reason Zola got binned was he was not good enough and as we all know he has a habit of missing games due to injury problems. Zelli will likely end up at Aberdeen, probably because Aberdeen will pay a bigger loan fee than the Albion would pay.

Popsideregular, thanks for the comment, sorry Scottish football is dire regardless of whether your a season ticket holder or not, I think I've seen enough of it over the years to make a sound judgment. Watching Aberdeen against various Scottish teams last year was worse than parks football, as for burton surviving in the Scottish premier league we will never know, but even our football looks attractive compared that garbage served up in the Scottish premier league, god knows how poor lower Scottish divisions are.

As for Zola not being good enough doesn't that tell you that Aberdeen must have extremely low standards because they signed him!

Hyperbole is that an American stadium.?Sorry Scottish football is great, Zeli will flourish at Aberdeen and will probably go onto Barcelona and then become world player off the year. Is that what u want me to say.? Sorry I have an opinion that doesn't fit in with yours.

I reckon Aberdeen fans will be hoping Zeli is better than Zola and that he turns out to be a diamond ;-)

It's not making a contribution to the forum if you're just saying ridiculous things that are self-evidently not true, just to get a rise out of people. That's not contributing to any debate, in fact it turns off other people from contributing. Tone it down a bit and people may take your opinions (which you are more than entitled to have) seriously.
