Big game today, a 6-pointer wrt York as they are right behind us! And this is our game in hand over Chesterfield. And a win plus a Fleetwood draw or loss would put us in 4th! C'mon Rochdale and of course COYB!!

Tough ask today. Since the 1st of Feb, York have turned their season round with a 10 game unbeaten run. They've won 8 drawn 2 and only conceded 2 goals. Personally I don't think we will get much return, but with 2 tight defences a close game will be on the cards. However if we start there with only 1 up front supposedly supported by a 5 man midfield (no-support then)and concede one, defeat beckons. Hope McGurk is fit and we start with him and Kee. Was hoping to go up for the match and and a B&B but not happening, shame because it's a decent town for a pint or two of proper beer and a curry.

Sounds like a very even and keenly contested game. Let's hope the 2nd half is better than the one we got at Scunthorpe.
I feel we have more quality to bring on from the bench and knowing how Gary likes his "impact" players, I wouldn't be surprised to see both Hemmings and Jimmy come on as the York defenders tire.

Game over - draw (0-0). We stay in 5th place in the League on Goal Difference only.

York City manager Nigel Worthington told BBC Radio York:
"I'm delighted with the point. I thought it was a very good, honest second division game with neither side willing to give anything. "A clean sheet again for ourselves is exactly what we're looking for. "The work rate and work put in by the players was phenomenal and we've got to keep that going over the course of the next six games and see where that gets us."
Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby:
"If you look at the chances created, I think we've created quite a lot more than they have and I thought we were in control of the game. It's just that extra little bit of finishing we need. "Matty [Palmer] has got in a couple of times, Callam McFadzean's got in once, Billy [Kee] has hit the bar and made the keeper scramble, Adam [McGurk] has got into some terrific positions and I was really pleased with what we've done in the 90 minutes. "You always hope you can keep that continuity and I thought Belly {Lee Bell who came in for Robbie Weir] was really good, so overall, I was very pleased. They're a team that's won eight out of the last 10 games and I felt was though we dominated the best part of the game."
I think the managers comments sum it up pretty well - it was a good 2nd Division game with both sides going for it. I'm just not sure about GRs final comment that we dominated the best part of the game...I think we did have the best of it and if you look at the shots we got in more and more on target but I think dominate is going a bit far...
Having had two poor refs for Wimbledon and Wycombe, I thought Mr Deadman got most things right today - let the game flow without letting it get out of hand in front of a noisy York crowd who even seemed to get excited when their team won a throw.
Some good performance today - the only one not up to his usual standard I thought was Damo - who couldn't seem to get the ball to another player in a yellow shirt. Alexander and McDonald were as busy as McGurk and Billy when they came on
As Garry says it's just that little bit of finishing we need......
Bring on the Green Army....

Think it is a great point against the very much inform team in the league. That said, it sounds as if our strikers just aren't doing the business again. Really hope that we find our scoring boots, don't want to see another play off opportunity fizzle out because we can't find the onion bag! Onwards and upwards
