There is a interview with Ben on Radio Derby Sportscene from 6.00 pm tonight ,sounds like it is a lengthy interview with him.Dave Fletcher asking the questions. One soundbite that was on earlier not sure whether this is common knowledge ,I didn't know it,but that not saying much ,but Pato is only on contract to the end of the season ,although Ben is hoping it will be longer.

Very interesting interview to listen to, spoke about a lot of different things past and present. From memory, spoke about his own story and how he personally got into the club, the Nigel Clough era and a few stories from that time. Eventually, moved on to recent years, and spoke about the Dino regime (fair to say he isn't a massive Dino fan lol) and how MP was appointed manager. Also revealed that the managerial position wasn't advertised but there was a potential candidate who gave Ben Arsene Wenger's phone number so he could give a "first class reference" - I wonder who that might have been?
Interview was about 45 minutes long, will post a link to it when it uploads on the website - very insightful and good on Radio Derby for doing it (even if some random Derby fan on twitter doesn't like us getting radio coverage)

We are a very lucky football club to have a chairman like Ben Robinson, no doubt about it. If I heard right, next season will be 50 years since he first got involved as a director, and I believe Ben will be 80 on New year's Day 2026? So it won't be long before Ben stands down? We have players with legend status, no doubt in my mind Ben is a club legend too. Missed what percentage of the club Ben owns, but whoever takes over as his successor they will have to continue working for the community. A real good listen, well done Ben

Thanks guys. I had no idea Pato was only a short term deal. I don’t recall being told by the club, until now. I certainly didn’t know

If he steps down might he could keep the shares in the family and hand it on to Fleur? If Wrexham continue to rise as they are they could need someone with a higher level of experience at the helm to grow the business (no offence to FR).

My belief has always been that while Ben has the mental capacity he will stay as Chairman and why not? Age is just a number and I can see him being Chairman until his dying day and I will raise a glass to that decision. What happens afterwards is, I must admit worrying….. it will be “interesting times” and I’m not sure that a Robinson family presence/ ownership will work . I say this having witnessed a few family run businesses being taken over by the next generation and in only one have they improved it. As to the others….
