Brewers are apparently in advanced talks, permanent transfer, highly rated West Ham youngster who’s had a loan spell at Northampton.

I love the confidence of the lad, apply some hard work, accept that their nay be some knock backs...
“I’m hard working, box-to-box, very good on the ball and I like to create moments in the game that lead to goals. I’m very good on my set-pieces and I will give everything for the team.”

excellent that we are signing this guy from a premier league club
however, this signing, and the signing of Conor the other day does unfortunately point to a midfielder leaving us. got to assume it means the end of Scott Fraser :-(

But we're very few, if any, players final home. So be it, quality in quality out and it's fine. Worked for us in the past 😁

He looks very good. The only note of caution is so did Martin Samuelson and despite the occasional glimpse we never quite saw the best of young Martin.
He's comfortable coming short for the ball and turning with it. He has a brilliant eye for a threaded through ball, especially in behind the full back.
He's got a mean cross field ball on I'm, looks good around the box and very importantly for us as a side, he tracks back and looks to like a tackle.
He mainly looks to play central but can cut in from the right hand side.
If he can make the step up to man's football week in week out then we've got a very good and potentially saleable player on our hands.
Makes me wonder if we may have had a too good to refuse offer for Scot.
If not and this lad is in addition to what we've got already then I'm really starting to get excited.
If he's here to replace Scot it will be a blow and a gamble but young Joe certainly has some potential.
I love the kind of signing we're making these days and I love where we're signing our players from.

Can only agree with what others have said on this thread already. What I like about these two signings is that there is clear evidence of planning by the club and also that they will be permanent rather than loans. Yes, it may mean Fraser is on his way but so be it. If we can get a decent fee and reinvest it in the squad which it looks like we are doing already then you will have no complaints from me. We have proved over the years that nobody is irreplaceable and that can be said of Fraser and Boyce. They are good players especially for a club if our size but aren't world beaters by any means and who knows, this lad may turn out to be better. Let's wait and see!

One of the joys of being a narky forum poster, I get contacted by fans of other clubs. A Northampton fan I trust said he was very good for them after a slowish start. "Fantastic range of passing and an eye for a spectacular goal. Genuinely surprised West Ham have let him go" I dont always trust fans opinions but this fella knows his stuff. We'll be selling him for a million plus by the end Nd of 2021.

A bit of interesting detail from website "Football Insider"
Revealed: West Ham have accepted 5-figure bid for starlet after three-club chase By Wayne Veysey -15th January 2020 at 10:00am
West Ham agreed to sell playmaker Joe Powell to Burton Albion rather than let him leave for nothing at the end of the season, Football Insider understands.
The Hammers announced on their official channels yesterday evening that the 21-year-old had sealed a permanent transfer to Nigel Clough’s League One side.
A West Ham source has told Football Insider that the club settled a “nominal” fee for Powell of less than £100,000 as his contract was due to expire in the summer.
Powell had been given the green light to hold talks with clubs after failing to break into the senior squad in the opening half of the campaign.
League One duo Lincoln City and Bristol Rovers both offered contracts to the young attacking midfielder but he opted to join Burton instead

Welcome Joe Powell sometimes big clubs let a diamond go, mostly not, looking at young players joining us we can give them a platform to build from. You will be part of a tight nit group, and mix with of our young players, broomo thinks you could move onto a bigger club, The good news is that Nigel has been the first step for many a youngster having a very successful career Che Adams-Will Hughes-Jeff Hendricks and many more. Sincerely hope you play with Fraser but if not, Clough must rate you highly

He can't be that good if he can't even get into the crap hammers first team. Only joking. Here's your chance, Joe. Grab it by the balls.

What an absolutely fantastic signing. He sounds like a real bargain. A steal. I am surprised he chose us over Lincoln City to be honest.
It is 3rd time lucky with Hammers players though.
Callum Driver = Carp. Currently at Leatherhead. Martin Samuelsen = Carp. Currently being lined up by Hull.
To be fair to Samuelsen, I think his confidence got a battering with us as it was a bit gloomy back then. He started well and then he slowly got worse and worse with each game. I think he had an injury too as I recall.
