Due to our recent scarecity of home games thought I might go along to this. I see it is seated only and I've never been in the seats at the Pirelli so that will be another novelty. Does anyone know if you can pay on the night?

Sorry cannot get to the game, but will have ifollow, so be with you in spirit, notice our internationals not available,or Nartley and Hutchinson, so 5 major players missing, a chance to see how strong the squad is, Mansfield players were booed off on sat, after winning their f-a cup game. So could come to prove a point tues night, Any way our season will reflect on our home games,£46-000 pounds on this game plus the f-a cup replay. So any fringe player now is your chance to show ,we have a strong squad

It would have been helpful if they could state this on their media releases, it just says get your ticket online, by phone or visit the shop.
I wanted to go to this, put off I can't stand but understand why.

I think that if you haven't got a ticket beforehand that you need to go to the ticket window by the club shop and pay there, they will issue you with a ticket with a seat number on which you then present at the turnstile. As opposed to handing your tenner over at the turnstile and sitting where you want if that makes sense! I went to the Everton game and waited until they went on general sale so as to get a seat near the half way line(stuck down in block 7 for league games) only to find some smart arse youth sitting in my seat saying it's sit where you want tonight which I think was a rule he made up so as to sit in my decent seat!

Yes difficult to control where one sits if pay on the gate for this one.
I'm not comfortable sitting, should be the opposite at my age 65+ Much prefer to stand, that way I don't seize up. Makes sense just opening the one stand.

Quite looking forward to seeing the return of Alex Macdonald to the Pirelli. He was always a personal favourite when he played for us.

Second half a different story, where we created very little. Too many anonymous players.

As one of a small number of people who have attended all three Leasing.com Trophy games I have to say I am really, really disappointed with that shambles of a performance tonight where again we had a strong side out.
Much of the blame for tonight's dismal effort has to fall at the door of the manager I'm afraid where he set us up with a number of players playing out of position and then made numerous changes throughout the game which seemed to confuse the players and disrupt the flow of the game. To be honest we could have lost by more if they had been better at finishing. There is no point going through the numerous tactical errors as it would take all night and the majority of fans are not bothered and will be glad we are out but in my opinion it's the only competition we can win.
Both home games have been poorly attended where the combined attendance of both games was less than the attendance at the Crewe game where there was less than a thousand at that match. Let that one sink in!
Oh well. No game now for 10 days or so where we hopefully have chance to regroup once the three international players come back and hopefully the injured ones.

I wonder how many clubs in L1 and L2 would vote to get rid of this competition if given the option? I think it would be a majority. I really struggle to see any value from being in it.

Better to have played the FA cup replay tonight if Salford could. It used to be like that. Too many cup comps going on at this stage of the season, as above I really don't think the club wants it. It's seems to me a chance for the fringe players to get a game, that hardly happened as they all need a game right now.

Maybe Clough doesn't care about this cup either and just used it as a training session and a chance to try different tactics and players in different positions. I certainly hope so, but it's a bit disappointing for fans that have paid their hard earned.

It's a really crap trophy. I would field our under 21s only in protest at it.
There are too many fixtures. Nobody cares about this cup. Scrap it.

Part and parcel of watching football having to occasionally endure a game like last night. We lost. No reason to get cross about it.
From the players available I’d say we had our best team out and most definitely set out to win the game. 3 sides of the ground closed and only 450 in the main stand doesn’t set the best atmosphere.
We started off with all the possession and pressure; their two goals came from nothing situations but from there on in we lost our way and the game did as well.
Would agree with Annable above the never ending changing of players and formation had no effect; the game just lost purpose.

Agree with above and I didn't even see much of Alex Macdonald with him coming on in the 89th minute. Was an experience sitting in the seats and watching Cloughie at close quarters but happy to return to the popside next match.

Burton were just waiting to score the Equaliser and knew it was just a matter of time, to many players just going through the motions,Mansfield made 8 changes and let Burton, huff n puff, with rubbish defending no quality in midfield, and the shots on goal better than average with only one clearing the stand.and only 3 players missing sitters, Always expecting some one to do something, until it was too late, and credit to Mansfield, showing our lot the way to see a game out,and coming away with a win, leaving the home team with egg on their face. our a squad is not Quality over quantity, and to many players not good enough or have injury issues. This cup competition is good, and shows us the weakness needed to be sorted in January, to maintain a top half finish in league 1
