I've got a feeling that Robbie Weir will be pushing to be the new penalty taker after confidently slotting home his penalty tonight! On a whole though, I think that the lads looked steady enough tonight against a side who will be looking to push for promotion to the Premier League next season and I don't think that anyone should be disheartened by what they saw tonight as we were always well in the game.

Overall, I was happy with the display, especially the second half. I thought we were unlucky to lose 3-1, we had plenty of chances to score more but I'm not really too fussed about the result. Maghoma, Weir and Stanton impressed me tonight, they were fantastic. The squad seem to be playing very well together which is great, with the new signings fitting in well. The defence looks more solid than it did last season, so that's pleasing too. Walsall will be a more appropriate test for us on Saturday, they're the closest opposition to the level we'll be playing this season.

Agree with the above post , but I am not convinced with Damion McCrory yet , distribution is poor , been caught out wrong side of the attacking wide men on a quite a number of occasions in the 3 matches I have seen . Hopefully he will improve in the next couple of friendlies .

Im more worried about Atkins.

Not sure he'd be suited to left-mid if I'm honest. He's been alright at LB so far against some tough opposition, so all he needs is time I think. Maghoma will have to be left-mid for me, he's been quite consistent in his performances in pre-season, and his defensive qualities look to have improved a bit. Hopefully he'll keep it up.
