Agreed. A very good attractive draw for us. Bournemouth are another example of a well managed and run football club.

I’m not sure I share these views. A bit of Googling and now off the top of my head but roughly………. Bournemouth went into administration in 1997. Again in 2008 with a 17pt deduction. Fined 4.74 million for financial irregularities in their Champuionship promotion season 2014. In Russian ownership………………….losses of 11 million last season……………..

I thought the .E-F-L augment against clubs losing money was that the Premier league were awash with it. Perhaps player value covered any losses.
Anyway another premier league team to grace the Pirelli in a competitive match, and funds needed to compensate for loss of `the Bury gate receipts

I was aware of their problems from years ago, but was not aware of their more recent fine. I apologise, and I will just say they do have a very good manager in Eddie Howe. Their supporters have also been friendly to us, which was much appreciated at the time.

Unless I am mistaken, looking at their accounts, they have £123 million of debts.

As far as I can see, you run up a debt to get promotion. Once in the Pemier League you make profits (not last year, but they had before), but you dont pay down the debt. All is fine until, as you say you get relegated. Then everyone is expected to shake a few tins...

Last Huddersfield accounts show Dean Hoyle still owed £49 million despite them reporting a £23 million profit...

As far as I can see then Maxim Demin is still involved in Bournemouth although their website says the club is 100% owned by AFCB Enterprises ( ) which benefits a trust related to his family. Their accounts to the end of June 2018 showed they had 'Creditors falling due within one year' of £122.8m of which £53m is related party undertakings - eg. monies owes to Company shareholders/the owners. The net value of the club (assets - liabilities) is a £37.8m liability. Some eye-watering figures in their accounts. www.afcb.co.uk/media/21698/afc-bournemouth-limited-2018-website.pdf

It's always hard to read into those numbers as the owners charge eye watering interest rates etc and stick themselves as a secured creditor. All is well, until the owner wants out...
Then we see what happens. And it isn't pretty.

Delighted to be playing them again. Great supporters and friends of our club. Given the similarities to bury re: financial fair play, clearly living beyond their means and basically cheating other clubs in the championship I am interested why you are delighted to play them again?

You’re correct. My mistake. I’m delighted that Burton Albion are playing them again. I won’t be playing. I’m now resigned to the fact that football clubs are (in general) run by capitalists.

Was it not Bournemouth whose fans funded transport for the rescheduled cup match when one was called off late due to snow? Top fans I'd say even if their management is less than squeaky clean. I welcome the fans.

This is a more than winnable tie
In the last round Bournemouth made 9 changes from their Premier League Team
They drew 0-0 v Forest Green Rovers at home and then won on penalties
We will go all out to win this I'm sure as we know the potential money available for a big game further down the line

Did anyone make the trip to Bournemouth when we were alongside them in League 2 in September 2009 and lost 1-0? I recall being second best all game and only being beaten in the 86th minute. Our team that day was:
Krysiak Boertien James Stride Austin Simpson McGrath Shroot Penn Harrad Walker
Subs: Redmond, Webster, Phillips, Maghoma, Corbett, Pearson
Rumour has it that Richard Walker is still running on to a through ball in that game.
Pesch was of course our Manager that day and Bournemouth were managed by someone called Eddie Howe.
Looking at all of the league 2 results that day reminds you how fortunate we are. Like me, you may pluck out the names Aldershot, Chesterfield, Bury, Dagenham and Redbridge, Darlington, Torquay, Notts County, Hereford and Barnet in the scores.
Aldershot 4 Cheltenham 1 Bournemouth 1 Burton Albion 0 Bradford 3 Chesterfield 0 Bury 2 Lincoln City 0 Dagenham and Redbridge 1 Morecambe 1 Grimsby 1 Darlington 1 Macclesfield 2 Torquay 1 Notts County 3 Port Vale 1 Rochdale 4 Hereford 1 Rotherham 3 Barnet 0 Shrewsbury 3 Northampton 0
