Went to the game yesterday and thought it was a hard, tough battle played at a reasonable pace given the sweltering conditions. As for us arriving late, Mikeyboy, i'm not sure this was the case. I traveled on the official supporters coach from the ground which set off at 12.15 and as we pulled away the players were just standing about outside their coach. I'm pretty sure I saw Boyce and Broadhead standing there so they did all travel together and by the time I took my seat in the ground at around 2pm the keepers were already on the pitch with the outfield players coming out 15-20 minutes later. We were certainly out there at the same time as Shrewsbury so I don't think we arrived late to be honest. It's strange as a few times the supporters coach sets off before the players coach especially if the trip is a relatively short one.
As for the game itself we had a rocky first 15 minutes or so with big Steve Morison putting himself about but after that we dominated the rest of the half without creating that much. We worked it from back to front very well as usual but as always it's that final ball that is missing. The best chance we had was in the first few minutes of the second half when Fraser burst into the box and the ball then fell to Edwards six yards out but the keeper made a good block.
To be honest I didn't think the starting front three of Sarkic, Akins and Edwards really clicked and then when Boyce and Sbarra came on it didn't change things markedly.
As for the ref I thought he was absolutely useless again and looked like he was going to be a real home biased ref. Could have given us a penalty at the end when Boyce's shot appeared to be blocked partly by their players arm but I also think that they had a good shout for a penalty in the first half when one of their players was challenged just inside the box. Didn't matter in the end and a draw was a decent result.
Big shout out's to Bucko and Brayford who had great games.
Onto two home games now where it would be nice to win both and get some momentum at the Pirelli.
