After that performance at the Kassam last night you have to feel confident about Saturday's visit to Montgomery Waters Meadow but the Shrews had their own comeback triumph at Accrington last night.... 2 v 0 down they scored 3 in last 15 mins to nick all 3 points (now on 7 points from first 4 games one place above us in the League)

We're away from home, we're doing alright. It'll be a good, tough game.
Lets cross our fingers and hope for the best. We seem to have a lot of fight about us.

I can harp on a bit sometimes, I hope it's recognised the post late last night was tongue in cheek. (a little bit)
It's really worth registering an ifollow account to watch Scot Fraser's interview and all the other free interviews you can watch by registering.
What a top bloke, down to earth and a real team player. I think we got him for free didn't we? Another unreal signing from Scotland, he's now worth at least a Jackson Irvine type fee and is definitely a better player than Jackson was.
We're building something here, I now hope no-one comes in for Boyce and even if it means letting his contract run down we keep hold of him. The link and bond between these boys is really nice to see. Even though I think Boycie hasn'tt been at his best as an individual and he should have scored at least once last night as well. His work rate and hold up play second half was a joy to watch.
Now come on lads, win back to back league games and don't let this result and performance go to waste. We are a better side than Shrewsvury, let's go and show it.
I'll put my neck on the line here, we WILL be involved in the play off race this season, I don't see us ever being too far away from top 6 to be challenging. We've got wins in us, we've got big wins in us and I don't see us taking too many thrashings. Be nice to see a fairly healthy + in the GD column as well.
Off on a tangent here but I hope Ireland don't call O'Hara up to the main squad just to have him train with them. We need him more than they do.

One thing so far this season is its hard to predict results
I am sure we are capable of beating anyone home or away
Also with a bit of bad luck or bad refs or both we are capable of losing to anyone
So based on the above I'm making no predictions and just hoping for some decent luck

Shrewsbury have a squad costing more than ours, but only by 1 mil,and play at Gay meadow 9875 capacity and average att 6760 they have been a league 1 ,club for the last 5 years ,and sit 8th==players of note-o"leary=Love=Edwards= and are managed by Sam Ricketts. So we are on the road again and face a club we have to compete with only 2000 up on our average attendance ,Following on from Oxford we are on a high, but football is so unpredictable,Looking at winning from 2 nil down, and beating Portsmouth brings the game down to being a away match and the home team favourites, Hoping they listen to Nigel and not go gung -ho. sorry, but the exiting players we have . Im going for a draw

Picked up on Nigel saying the Shrews had signed more than anyone else in League One so went and had a look. They've gone through MASSIVE changes over the summer with 15 out and 9 in. (okus another half a dozen released). Just watched extended highlights of all 5 of their games.
They've loaned Steve Morrison from Milwall and we know he's a no nonsense, hard grafting centre forward but I'd also argue not the quickest and Bucko will relish the physical challenge. Where they might cause us issues is with pace from those around him plus the bench, Shaun Whalley down the right hand side is sharp and they've got two lads upfront who won't both start but who are proper quick, Daniel Udho got the winner on his debut and Okenbirhie who is usually sub but has got goals in him. They've also got another lad who comes off the bench and can carry the ball with pace in Louis Thompson.
Their playmaker seems to be Luke McCormick a young lad on loan from Chelsea but looking at him as closely as I could he's not the quality of some of the loanees we've had, he can play but he's a touch light as things stand.
I think both of their centre halves are clumsy and wouldn't be surprised to see us get a penalty. Ebanks Blake is built like a brick outhouse but he struggles with runners behind and Beccles always has a foul in him. If Boycie or Lucas twist and turn them on the edge, they WILL dive in. I'd go as far as to say if Shrewsbury are daft enough to start 3-5-2 we'll murder them. They also struggle with balls to the far post, so if Edwards can deliver balls of the quality he's been delivering we've got a chance from set pieces.
Before the Accrington game they'd struggled for goals, only scoring 1 in 4 (3 league games and 1 cup game) yet they sit on 7 points. Ganes against them aren't usually high scoring, the last nine games we've played, neither side has scored more than 2 goals.
I fancy us here, I'm not going to go daft and say we'll score 3 or 4 but if we get an early goal they could cave in.
We've just got to be cautious of their pace and not get caught out by that one pass into space. They'll try to play and we know that we can press and counter attack better than most teams in this division.
COYB 2-0 away win would be lovely.

I think JJ might come straight back in. I think it's harsh on Wallace who has been brilliant so far this season, from what I've seen.
I think Wallace may have to go through what Tom Naylor went through for a couple of months and be in and out of the starting 11 but always at least first sub until he plays so well he can't be left out.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Sarkic start. He was very good when he came on and much more effective than Nathan Broadhead in both directions. Nathan will be a massive threat whenever he plays but it wouldn't knock me off my feet if Nigel brought Sarkic in for his first start. He's got to be knocking on the door.
I'm still optimistic, I'm thinking they'll play more of a 5-3-2 than a 3-5-2 and it's mainly down their left the fullback overlaps.
Come on lads, a clean sheet would be a lovely way to start a glorious bank holiday weekend.
2-0, Boyce and Broadhead (late).
Boycie deserves a goal and I really fancy their clumsy central defenders will allow him clear chances.

Half time 0-0. We’ve had the better of the first half but chances for both teams at a premium. For me we have to be a little more patient when attacking. We seem to be trying to force things a little to much. Not the most exciting game but I think Nigel will be very happy.

Final score 0-0. Second half not much more to report than the first half. No team really giving an inch. A good away point for me and very pleased with a clean sheet at last. I’m sure Nigel will take that.

I’m sure Nigel will take that. I agree. It is an anti-climax after the two superb away wins so far, but it is a good point on a mithering day (same for both teams of course). I am sure Nigel will be happier than their manager. Rumbleows Cup in the week and then hopefully we can get points at home next Saturday.

Not the greatest of games in terms of entertainment but both teams had won away in midweek in high scoring games and in the searing heat maybe energy levels were dipping. Chances were few and far between but we did have almost 60% possession and I felt if anyone was going to win it, it would have been us. I believe also we arrived late at the ground and didn’t start to warm up until almost 2.25, so all things considered.if was a decent point won.

I see Doncaster enjoyed their midweek rest, courtesy of Bolton not being able to play.
It is not cause and effect, but this farce cannot continue any longer.

I think the lack of reports from the game so far on here says it all about the result. Anyone who went want to give a view on sarkic and sbarra? Interested to hear how they both got on. I'm hoping Joe will get more game time this year.

Was at the game yesterday along with 420 brewers. Fair result in the end. Thought the ref should have given something when Fraser was fouled when through in the first half and same player should maybe have done better with a chance on his left foot. Clearly the heat played a part and neither keeper had a great deal to do. Sarkic was just ok IMO, early days. Sbarra didn't get long and his first action was to be adjudged to have fouled his opponent twice his size nr the touchline! Neat and tidy again nothing special. I would have liked Temps to have been given 20/30 minutes instead who IMO is more likely to create something. MOTM for me was Brayford who didn't give there left sided player anything closely followed by Quinn while he was on. Never gave a bad pass and made an excellent tackle on the edge of the box first half in a dangerous situation.

Yes agree with fergo. Sarkic very quiet Sbarra wasn’t on for too long . The heat certainly played a part. Against Oxford 1 goal was never going to be enough yesterday 1 goal was always going to be enough. I think if anyone deserved to win it it was us but 0-0 was a fair reflection of the game. Shrewsbury 12 shots and 1 on target us 14 shots with 2 on target says it all really. Not a moan at all. We’ll get games like this so the main thing is not to lose them and we didn’t lose this one. Good point in my opinion against another team who have had a decent start.

one time a draw away from home, would have been a good result,So it seems expectancy levels have gone up. With the very warm conditions, only time will show weather both teams are good league 1 clubs,or playoff contenders. But the away point is always the most valuable. Our approach now is to accept we play much bigger clubs, dismiss it as it is repetitive, and is always a factor. So we concentrate on the team, Playing on the front foot will always leave us open to the counter attack. and is a bold move at this level, with our resources, Burton Albion are a respected league 1 club, and a clean sheet is always welcome . We gave a good account of our selves and came away with a good point

Sarkic did ok, looks quite a clever player, but for me the creative spark in midfield was missing. When I passed the players coach on the A38 at Lichfield at 12.50 I was worried, I don’t know if anyone knows why we were late? But maybe the line up had to be changed if someone was late (Boyce on the bench and Broadhead not in the squad)? Anyway in the heat and the circumstances we did pretty well, the keeper and back 4 were very solid but we just didn’t create very much that was clear cut. I did feel we missed Boyce’s endeavour up front but I agree with Fergo that Templeton could have made a difference. We have a decent squad and lots of talent - a slice of luck might have been missing yesterday. It was interesting listening to Radio Shropshire afterwards for quite a while due to the closure of the A5 that there was a huge ‘Rickets Out’ faction - sad and a bit silly when they are top half and with 9 new players.
