We often talk about how to increase our fanbase and we all come up with different ways to do this. Talking to someone today who is not from the area, who said he would go to more games but is put off by only having one stand for seating. He does not want to stand, and the seats can all go for attractive fixtures. It got me thinking. How many other people ate out off by this? I'm fairness there are not many grounds in the football league with 3 sides standing - I can only think of forest green that has this. I think the time has come to now invest in the ground and make it look like a decent league ground. Even Accrington now have 2 sides seating. Our ground is neat and purposeful but I think it has a feeling of non league about it. A larger single cantilever stand with facilities underneath would be perfect. Think about Oldhams new stand or fleetwoods innovative stand.

this is a problem 3 sides standing in 2019 hoping for a promotion push, when in the next league our ground is not fit for purpose in the long term. Attracting 3000 in league 1 whilst being a top ten club ,Where do we find the investment, it reminds me of a top star playing to a small audience it is not viable. Making every penny count.spending on a good quality playing surface is not cheap. We are now playing against some top teams, and Clough needs a allowance fit for purpose to maintain our status in league 1, Perhaps Ben is saving for a revamp of his posh non-league stadium, but it must be hard to finance our success on the field. Rotherham with a 12-000 all seater and a good fan base, for league 1 cannot maintain Championship status, Burton Albion deserve a quality stadium, they also deserve a fan base that is big enough to let the club grow When the demand for seats cannot be met,i am sure if possible action will be taken. I go to many games when seats are available, and only seem to be filled when a big away following is present.
