Would be a good signing if we could get him.

Being advised to wait because moving to Burton would not be a good career move at his age,and their wages are a lot lower than most clubs even in league 1, Staying with Plymouth still a option with a new manager and expected to be a promotion favourite. Also a lot of the big clubs have not started recruiting yet

Are you sure its not Jim Carey we are after đ I know it is only speculation but do we need any more midfielders? Goalkeeper, Centre Back to replace McFadz and another striking option priorities IMO.

Not sure how much I believe the Carey rumour. All seemed to start with a Twitter rumour from an account that is not exactly renowned for accurate stories until after they actually happen.
The Sun guy that presumably picked up the same rumour is sometimes more reliable but only the other day was then linking Carey with a possible move to Bulgaria!
Carey is a good player but I'm scratching my head where he would fit into our team right now so whilst I would be happy to be proved wrong I just cant see this one being a goer.

As much as I would like to see Graham Carey in an Albion shirt , I cannot see where we could fit him in unless someone is after Scott Fraser and he would be a direct replacement for him .

I hope no one is after Scotty Fraser however it would not surprise me if lower end Championship and bigger league 1 clubs were keeping tabs on him. Still young and could get even better.

I think football clubs should only be allowed to sign players who have a reasonable attachment to the area where the club is based. Born there, grew up there, or have close relatives from the area. I havenât thought this through too well but my idea is similar to the rules on International teams.
It would even things out but perhaps richer parents with young football prospects would move to the area of âbiggerâ clubs?
It sounds like a stupid idea to some, I would imagine, but it would make supporting a local club more relevant somehow in my eyes.
I expect my view to be ridiculed by most, and it would never happen but I would like it.

How does that work, big city clubs would still have massive choices, and the small clubs coming from less populated areas would still struggle. cricket used to be like that, and the bigger city teams had the best teams. any way it is against the law preventing free movement.and restricting trade. The industrial revolution, helped to bring transport and movement of goods and labour to areas that needed them.and that is what players do go where the better paid jobs are. Another big problem a lot of fans don't support their local club and have many reasons for supporting a club not just the area they live look at me, living in ilkeston, they have had a super season, but i support Burton.perhaps we should make people living in the area support their local club. But still the big city clubs would have the wealth. I know it is summer

It wasnât a serious suggestion Trev. I also live in Ilkeston, but born, bred and brought up in Burton so thatâs my team. Iâve not been tempted to go to Ilkeston Town, even though the ground is 5 mins walk away from me.

It would restrict and make things very interesting, however for me it would be to cap transfer fees and wages depending on which league? So being realistic but making everyone in the same league have an equal amount for both! Would probably mean us losing Nige to the prem? COYB
