We are possibly signing that young lad from Formartine in Scotland .Whether he will go straight into the squad only Nigel knows that . We'll get our centre half for sure. He's got such a good track record in that position, I've no doubt he'll have someone lined up. Going on his previous, it'll be someone none of us have heard of and will probably have us scratching our heads, there'll be uproar on facebook and on here if Royston hangs around. Then he'll win player of the year. I don't gamble but I'm putting money on us to be top 6 next season. The only way I'd change my mind is if the unthinkable happened and NC and his backroom entourage got poached. Fingers crossed he turns off his mobile again over the summer ;-) There is always a strong chance that a management team of the quality of Nigel and co. will be wanted by other clubs.

Good luck with that Nigel

Then he'll win player of the year. Just like Bucko the first time he came.... You think the moaners would have learned their lesson by now don't you? Time and time and time and time again, this manager and his staff prove that a large (or loud) minority of our own fans are clueless and wouldn't know a player or a good side if it hit them between the eyes. NC think's we're not far off, that'll do for me. I don't expect a plethora of signings, in fact I'd go as far as to say if Kyle had stayed and we keep hold of Boycie, we probably would have been comfortable going with the same squad. I only expect us to sign a player in any position we lose one of our core first team squad, and I like that a lot. We're a tiny tweak away from really challenging. No need for a crazy number of transfers this time around. We simply can't afford to carry players who aren't in the 18 man squad. It's going to need to be a really tight unit again. So Kyle has gone. A replacement centre half is needed and will be found - I like Ilson's idea of signing a pacey right back and moving the Bray across. We usually get one surprise player showing interest in us as well, so that's always something to look out for, a sneaky trialist with the same quality and desire as Quinny available on a free and we'd probably squeeze them in somewhere. I'm hoping for a really quiet summer.

Then he'll win player of the year. Just like Bucko the first time he came.... And we didn’t sign Jake until a week before the season started. Had bern on trial at Crewe where a deal fell through and. Nigel swooped. Jake played in our final pre-season friendly and proved to be the final piece of the jigsaw that season. As for next season with Jake we will see but at the awards night on Wednesday he said something which I took as a hint that he will be around next season. I may have misunderstood but hopefully not. As for needing four CB’s if he goes, what rubbish. Bray can slot in there if needed and we have seen in recent games that Kieran Wallace is more than capable. Statking makes the point about bringing in a right back. Perhaps we will but I have a sneaky feeling he may already be in our squad. Nigel hinted a while ago that our younger players need to develop and nail down a position. Ben Fox seems to have the attributes to play right back. Our midfield three (assuming they all stay together and fit) pick themselves so Ben could slot in at right back. If the stories are true then we already have one CB lined up anyway. Jevan Anderson the young Scottish lad that looks set to sign fairly soon.

My favourite example is always Greg Pearson. We'd not retained Daryl Clare. The numpties of the day* were in meltdown. "What is Clough playing at?" "Him and Robinson don't want to go up." "Greg who?" Usual crap. Greg arrived from Bishops Stortford on the eve of the season. Greg got 20 goals and we went up. He probably wasn't the all-round player Clare was but he was right for the team at the time and a thoroughly good bloke too. He went on to score our first Football League hat-trick.
*Some of them are the same numpties now as then, 10 years and three promotions later, moaning about an established FL club. You wonder if they'd have found Peter Sutcliffe not guilty. Not enough evidence.

I think the retained list is pretty much what was expected, apart from the Bywater situation, I wouldn’t have paid him for a further year. It is however in my opinion brave and strong management by Nigel, announcing it before our final fixture and makes quite a statement that we are in control and on the front foot and that next season is going to be a good one for us. It’s setting out stall out to potential recruits and saying ‘Come and join Burton Albion’. Agree with this completely. I would like to have kept Kyle but completely understand the situation,Brad Collins or another first choice Keeper and obviously a centre back needed and the squad will be well on the way. I'm optimistic about next season. COYB 😁👍

Its hard not to blow a fuse, but royston represents our fan base who live in a fantasy world, and take all the success from this wonderful club to a level where facts are disregarded, and we can mix with the big clubs, and financial gaps don't exist.a world of pure fantasy. Nigel said that the finances have to be addressed, after our unexpected journey to the championship. Losing £250-000 on kyle will not sit well with Clough. But we did get 3 good years,2 in the championship, were spending millions on players is not unusual, and a important first season back in league 1. So after all it was good business. Kyle at his age deserves a good pay day. Good luck to him. For me Collins is the signing we need, reality we cannot even match the wages of a youth player at Chelsea. this is the world 3-000 fans give you. Buxton for me a backup, and club captain, Brayford can play full back still, and central defence. Bywater not for me but Clough rates him and cheap. Sorry to lose Miller i had hoped he would come good, but i think Clough had a difficult choice to make, with to many players for certain positions. I see Sordell still with us sorry i have give up on him. going to be a long summer our window runs till the end of August.

Maybe the gaffa should have thought like you do in january trevor instead of bringing in a right back from brentford who he took an instant dislike too refused to play but we were duty bound to keep him till the end of the season paying championship wages for privalige. If as you say Bucko at 35 in march is cover at best who plays centre back? We havent got any. Great planning that

Great planning that I've watched Nigel and his management style very closely since 1998 at every club he's been at. There are 3 types of player he lets go. 1) the player who deserves to step up a level and in a deal that's right for the club. 2) those who aren't in his plans, he quite likes them as people and wants them to get fixed up elsewhere and quickly. 3) total shithouses who think they know better and are a bad influences in the dressing room. No matter how good they may or may not be on the pitch. Which one of those does your mate/relative come under, I'm not sure but if he's anything like you, then I can have a good guess. Really, you hate all of our players seemingly apart from Kyle, Harry and Damo who all deserve better. You're not a fan, you're a fraud.

Most teams with our budget release players first and then sign new ones after that. That's football for you. Keep calm we will soon have almost four months to sign new players on!!

Fingers crossed he turns off his mobile again over the summer ;-) Dont worry about either NC and his “staff” going anytime soon or us finishing in the top 6 next season. We will find life even harder next year with a basically weaker squad and Bys bucko and brays assuming the two later stay being one year older and slower

I didnt tell you bucko was leaving at all your making things up again. It was reported in january that bucko had been offered abd was likely to accept a coaching role at derby. Keep up lame brain
