Yes, here is the link... www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/2019/may/0305-bywater/?fbclid=IwAR29BhvmhGujXYWUBuPaRPCGsGyGJSVvhsDXbETFbq6rAO_Y6fcKyqrQqrQ#.XMxZVkjLup8.facebookMassive thanks to Damo in particular, to be with us for 7 years in three divisions, making 200 odd appearances. A fantastic effort. I also always enjoyed McFadz, who turned out to be classy, ball playing centre back after coming here as a reputation as an enforcer. I suspect he will find a club that will be able to pay much more than us. Campbell of course had just a few great moments, the Villa penalty save was a big part of our trip to the semi-finals. Miller I thought was a natural 10, but never really had much of an opportunity there. I hope he gets picked up elsewhere. As for Bywater, I am chuffed with this, I never thought the excessive criticism was justified. I think an experienced goalkeeper is vital, especially if you have a couple of younger ones in the club. I still think he is capable in League One of challenging for the number one position.

I also like him, thought he showed glimpses of real intelligence and quality. the kind you'd expect from a young lad schooled at Spurs. I just feel once he got his injury his confidence went. It didn't look like he believed in himself anymore. Could be wildly wrong but I'd say that has got a lot to do with the lack of opportunities. I feel there were times we were trying to nurse him through it and get him back to his old ways but it didn't really happen. Other young players passed him by, Jake Hesketh had more of an influence on us and I'd love to see him come back to replace Will perhaps? Will seemed a really good lad to have around, I think the management team were willing him to come good. I hope the lad gets fixed up nice and early and with a good club. As for Damo, clearly a club stalwart but for me no great loss. The fact he couldn't stay fit, getting injured in warm ups, then his general defensive displays means I'm sorry to be this harsh but he's not needed and won't be a big loss. Kyle will leave a big hole.

So we announce Kyle will be released but “hope” to keep Jake. If we dont it leaves us with no centre backs as I suggested might happen. completely ridiculous decision making as the club have known for months that Jake had been offered a coaching role at Derby but still release Kyle.

If my auntie had have had balls, she'd have been my uncle. I'd put a few quid on it that Jake will sign, where's he going to go if he wants to keep playing? Maybe earlier this season when idiot boo boys like you were slating him, he'd have been forgiven for wanting to stop playing. Since then he's been a revelation and I bet he can't wait for next season to start. There is no way the Chairman would allow this manager or any other manager start the season with no central defenders. Maybe you could wait and see, instead of as usual, trying to cause panic about things that never happen

Sorry to see Fadz go but I guessed as much. Too pricey for a small League 1 club and he will likely double (or more) his wages elsewhere. Damien has been a star over the years but not done much this season. Good luck to him - he’d make a top Conference / League 2 left back somewhere and probably earn more than he does at Burton too so good luck to him. I liked Will but can’t argue with the decision to release and glad that Sbarra will be back to fight for a starting place. Happy with Bucko for another year and hope we bring in a pacey Young right back and move Brayford to CB.

I've a strange feeling we'll sign a centre back in the close season. Perhaps two? Then we'll have someone to play there. That seems a quite sensible option - maybe I'm just throwing a few crazy ideas around. I don't think Nigel's as daft as you think. There's always Lucas. COYB!!

Sorry to see McFaz go, but I understand the reasons. Also I add my praises for Damo. I feel optimistic about the summer and looking forward to the new signings yet to join us. I notice Royston is immediately into panic status, assuming our club is run by idiots incapable of planning and running a football club!

Was hoping we could keep Kyle but realistically as regards his ability and potential wages he could get elsewhere then....TBH he was always going to go. Just want to say it's been a real pleasure watching him play the way a good CB should do. A really good defender who is so comfortable in possession. Working in Derby I always say too the lads what a good player he is and in my opinion a better player than a few of their central defenders! But that's my opinion. Not too bothered about the others going especially Miller, although technically he is a good player, he just doesn't do enough in being a realistic threat and can't go past his opponent so always ends up coming inside! Damien has been a fantastic player for the club in past seasons but unfortunately has not featured enough and would probably suit a move and a fresh start! COYB 👍🏻

I think the retained list is pretty much what was expected, apart from the Bywater situation, I wouldn’t have paid him for a further year. It is however in my opinion brave and strong management by Nigel, announcing it before our final fixture and makes quite a statement that we are in control and on the front foot and that next season is going to be a good one for us. It’s setting out stall out to potential recruits and saying ‘Come and join Burton Albion’.

No surprises on that list for me although I think we all hoped that Kyle may re sign but it was always a long shot with the money situation and also and as importantly what the player himself wants to do.
I see the usual muppets are out in force across social media tonight asking why we haven't signed on Kyle. Guess what everybody, he doesn't have to sign for us and this is probably his last chance at 32 to get a really decent 2 to 3 year contract and I wouldn't imagine the 86th best supported team in the football league have the money to afford him. That's just reality but not everyone can grasp it.
Where do people think he will end up? I wonder whether somebody like Bradford might break the bank for him and offer him a 3 year deal and make him captain and hope him can lead them back up the divisions. I suspect it will be a Yorkshire club with maybe Donny another option dependant on what league they are in.
At the end of the day players come and go and they are all replaceable and I feel that the preparations for next season are in far better shape than this time last year so let's see what NC has planned. Didn't do to badly with the signings last year once they had finally arrived and settled down. We are ahead of the game this time round.
Also good to hear that we are talking to Brad Collins about next season and hopefully we can persuade him that signing for us is a good career move.
Exciting times!!

Absolutely correct, apart from, after my research this evening, we are currently the 84th best supported team... Could be wrong of course

He's got such a good track record in that position, I've no doubt he'll have someone lined up. Going on his previous, it'll be someone none of us have heard of and will probably have us scratching our heads, there'll be uproar on facebook and on here if Royston hangs around. Then he'll win player of the year. I don't gamble but I'm putting money on us to be top 6 next season. The only way I'd change my mind is if the unthinkable happened and NC and his backroom entourage got poached. Fingers crossed he turns off his mobile again over the summer ;-)
