Yep for sure if players turn down extended contract offers Nigel will have a downer on them
Isn't that to be expected?
Some times they get a better deal elsewhere. Sometimes they don't.
But he's got to deal with is regardless
It's just football management isn't it?

Close to extending his contract, Knows where to Knuckle down == shucks another conspiracy gone hay wire----jog on Tbh he was going out on loan just a few weeks ago having turned down a three year contract in january hence him basically being bombed until last week. Dont believe all you read on the club website that has always been one of your faults and thats why you and others are at risk of making so many ridiculous assertions over what youve read. Some posters were saying he had already signed a new contract ..... he hadnt still hasnt......... another conspiracy theory quashed..... i could use one of your popular lines and say your talking rubbish but that would be disrepectful wouldnt it Trevor Why would he accept a three year contract on unfavourable terms with one year still left on his existing deal and at his age at our club. He will be nearly 25 when that deal expires. He deserves a lot better than being offered to non league clubs for not signing an unacceptable deal? A contract offer is either acceptable or not. If he thinks he can get a better deal elsewhere good luck to him. There are always clubs that will have bigger budgets than us in League One, League Two and maybe even the Conference. And the grass is always greener as Shaun Harrad, Adam McGurk, any player currently at Bolton will attest. Even Matt Palmer has had plenty of time to hone his shopping skills this season. If Fox wants to move on, then best wishes and succeed lad. If he wants to stay, then great. The one refreshing thing for me was when he did come on the other week was that he looked lively, keen and interested.

The offer being made is still an improvement on his current deal isn't it?

We all know the grass is greener elsewhere.and many players follow this path, But when you are young, guidance is key. Burton Albion with a lot of experienced players and coaches, and a will to give young players a chance, while knowing they are a feeding ground for bigger clubs. In any career timing is key. A big fish in a small pond gets noticed more than a small fish in a big pond.Jump to soon and you could drown. Fox seems level headed and could have a bright future. Burton Albion playing staff who want to move on,get time out to concentrate on their other interest

Have yet to find the workplace where everybody gets on, nobody grumbles about the boss, everyone is happy with their workload and pay, backbiting and gossiping is unheard of. Don't expect football clubs to be any different.

Great news, one of our own and can only get better. I personally think he is best in central midfield with a licence to get forward but looks good at right back too.

Excellent news, I personally think Ben has a big future in football, given a run of games in the team (injury permitting of course) the big boys will probably be sniffing around. Well done Ben

Just goes to show what a load of rubbish Royston puts on here. The report contradicts everything he has said.

Nice to get another home grown player signed up for the next two seasons after this. This deal will hopefully mutually beneficial for both club and player where the club have access to a talented player who could be come a regular starter and the player gets chance to develop his career at his local club and maybe move on to a higher level. Hopefully he can do that with us but if not get a move to a Championship or even Premier League club.
At this moment in time Ben Fox is not in our best eleven so he will need to impress from the bench unless the players ahead of him get injured or Nigel chooses to give fringe players a game in the last few games of the season. At the end of the day it's up to Ben now to break his way into the starting eleven and then stay there by standard of performance.
Great also to see the club continue to plan for the future rather than deal with things season by season. I think Nigel realises that the uncertainty surrounding the playing squad from the end of last season to the end of August had a serious detrimental effect on how we started this season and with a better close season we would have been further up the league now rather than playing catch up, I get that going from the Championship to League One for a club of our size was difficult but I really do think we will be better prepared at the start of next season and ready to hit the ground running because we have been able to tie players down to longer contracts.
Good work all round!

Me and the other boys really appreciate it i love it here. Lukas Akins==Nigel Clough is definitely the best manager i have played for,he has got the best out of me potencial wise,i have had the happiest time of my life playing under him. Silly me believing what i read and hear, where you make it up has you go along [ providing it is controversial ] And has lost the dressing room theory also goes bellyup
