We’ve got 4 keepers covering 1 position and can barely get a back 4 out week on week.
I think the latter is a much bigger issue when it comes to strengthening.

I hope you're right. Sounds like Nigel's got his plan. Less experienced keepers need game time to improve. I remember Adam Legzdins being a bit ropey for the first few games and then he got player of the season, I think. Stu Tomlinson, too. It's difficult for (some) fans to disentangle Steve from the relegation season and the very poor start to this one. Many fans (not on here, though, I don't think) seem to lay the blame at Jake Buxton. I think that's unfair because he'd turned his game around this season before his injury. Whereas, in my opinion, Bywater's performances have nosedived steadily since the start of last season and he's a million miles from the guy who played a blinder (?!) when Jon Mc was injured against Brum.

So our goalkeeping coach, and decision making in this area remains hit and miss. Bywater --Campbell not a dream team, We go again with Collins and Evtimov. Can some one tell me -- no i will guess Collins--Evtimov--bywater--Campbel==1-2-3-4- we went cheap with Bywater, no back up with Campbell not good enough. Come Sat we will have 4 Nigel and his team can pick players but who recruits our no1 has failed. One point on a positive note once more has a player signed by Clough gone onto international recognition well done Evtimov doesn't the manager have a say on the recruitment of our no.1 then Trevor? I would say yes, but it is a team game and playing or experience in the goalkeeping department is not his strength .so he will rely on his advisers manly the goalkeeping coach who will be the expert in this position. But the buck stops with Clough.

Well he wasn't missed on Sat, I mean that in a nice way.
One thing that bugged me why do international teams have 2 keepers on the bench? Dimitar I guess seems to be 3rd choice in the grand scheme of things for Bulgaria, never got to play a part.

No-one remembers Ron Springett. I do Ilson - I guess you’re meaning his 66 World Cup experience?

No-one remembers Ron Springett. I do, I watched his brother play many games for Sheffield Wednesday. He was also for many years the most capped Sheffield Wednesday player.

My interpretation on keeping Dimitar is a) he will be playing v Middlesbrough and b) to cover ourselves for the first bit of the transfer window should Collins get a better offer or something changes with Bywater.
