Just looking at the GK situation that Nige is pondering over? He can't be serious about not trying to keep Dimitar. For me he's the best out of the 3 and seems keen to be part of the set up at Burton. Ok Collins has come on loan from a massive club who have probably got quite a few more on their books! however for me Dimitar looks more comfortable. As for Bywater a coaching role would be ideal! Come on Nige give the lad a chance!

We have Bywater, Campbell and Collins all contracted to the end of the season. How can we possibly contemplate a 4th keeper on our budgets?
Collins will have an agreement no doubt to play so many games. HC needs to go out on loan. We have to back the judgement made a few weeks ago and get on with it.
Yes Dimitar has been good for us but fans need to see the bigger picture. Still it gives the moaners an opportunity………….

I agree Craig.
Collins and Dimi as the two.
Bywater out on loan or retired to coach

Dimitar would be my choice as number 1. Get rid of Bywater, we already have a goalkeeper coach.

I really don't get this Dimi thing.
Has everyone missed the mistakes he has made?
I'm not going to highlight them because he has improved, he has looked assured and he has looked like he wants to be here and has by all accounts been a real positive influence. But so has Collins.
I really don't get what the need to keep him is all about, we can only play one keeper at a time.
Collins will be number one, Bywater back up.
Next season though if available, yes please.

Radio Derby tonight from Nigel:
Dimitar - sitting down with Nigel this week to discuss the future. Campbell - looking to loan him to Conference / Conf North team for experience. Bywater - back in training - probably make the bench on Saturday. Don't even go there......! Collins - he'll be No.1 Saturday.
I'm paraphrasing of course but this is what I took from the interview. Also, Ben & Reece nowhere near ready.

Nigel is negotiating with Dimitar and maybe doesn’t want to build him up too much yet. He may well have been on half decent wages at Forest and it could be tough getting him in at a price we can afford. In those circumstances you don’t show all of your cards.

I don’t get this Dimitar thing either. Yes he looks a decent prospect but you cannot just assume that HC and Bywater will want to go out on loan or indeed be sought after to go out on loan. Neither can you just retire somebody from contract. There may well be movement in the summer. We have 3 contracted keepers in a squad desperately short on numbers and in more important areas than keeper.

In addition from what I've seen Collins and Dimitar are equally capable as is Stephen Bywater.

Bywater is not equally as capable as Collins/Dimitar. Sorry.

We have experts in goalkeeping standards, and what it takes to stand up and be counted in a most vital position, and for me that is why they are no 1 And in Bywater and Campbell we have been let down. Mclaughlin was a good goalkeeper and won us many points,But like many exceptional talents they move on. Bywater was always a cheap no2, Our quest to find a quality goalkeeper hit the buffers, and we need to rectifier this weakness, With 3 goalkeepers already on our books.Who ever brought Collins in will have to justify his decision. And i hope it is not the one who thought Bywater and Campbell would be our foundation to build on

To me this conundrum is fairly simple. 1) Collins an exceptional young keeper but is inexperienced. He is getting top class coaching and development from one of the worlds top clubs. Should become a top level keeper and we have him for the season, let’s make best use of that. 2) Evtimov is older, has potential, has had very good coaching at Forest, but didn’t make the grade for Championship level football. Lacks experience at 1st team level and confidence and as a consequence always has a mistake in him currently. But could be our player and worth keeping on. 3) Bywater, has enjoyed an average career as a professional, low levels of ambition and commitment now. Also was suffering a confidence crisis and maybe not that stable. No longer should be a consideration as a no 1or be considered for a further playing contract. 4) Campbell, someone who has not managed to break through to no 1 at any club so far, shows commitment and loyalty but now needs to go out on loan and play for the rest of the season at a lower level and be reassessed on his return. Unlikely to ever be a regular in the Championship or League 1 at the present time.
Conclusion: keep Collins and Evtimov to challenge each other for the jersey.

FWIW
All those saying ditch Steve - he has a contract until the end of the season. A legally binding contract which if we want him to leave then he has to be paid up or at least a compromise agreement on the remainder of his contract. Not cost free to just get rid.
Collins is only here until January 2nd as it stands. Personally I think he is ok. Not great, not exceptional. He is ok. Still learning his trade and could be a good keeper in time. Still worries me on a few technical things in his game but his basics seems fairly sound. He's only 21 so not going to be the finished article yet but learning all the time.
Evtimov. Decent keeper who has shown a sound attitude and clearly is the right sort of character that fits in well with the squad. Again, a few technical issues with his game and although older than Collins still needs regular first team experience to develop into a good keeper. Has made one or two mistakes and looks a little vulnerable to balls into his six yard box but that can come with experience. If he was that fantastic a keeper he would not have been a free agent without a club when we signed him, someone would have snapped him up.
Campbell, not really seen enough of Harry to form a good view of him to be honest.
In reality, we are a league One club. We are not going to get a world beating, perfect keeper. Whoever we get will have some deficiencies in their game.
Personally I hope Dimi stays as there is the potential for him to be a longer term option if he can smooth off the rough edges of his game. In the context of what is probably out there in terms of keeping options, we could do a hell of a lot worse imo.
Will be interesting to see what happens. Nigel is a shrewd operator and will do what is best for the situation.

Anyone fancy starting a GoFundMe to pay off the rest of Steve's contract?

So our goalkeeping coach, and decision making in this area remains hit and miss. Bywater --Campbell not a dream team, We go again with Collins and Evtimov. Can some one tell me -- no i will guess Collins--Evtimov--bywater--Campbel==1-2-3-4- we went cheap with Bywater, no back up with Campbell not good enough. Come Sat we will have 4 Nigel and his team can pick players but who recruits our no1 has failed. One point on a positive note once more has a player signed by Clough gone onto international recognition well done Evtimov
