The other club relegated with us last season... They lost for the first time in the League to a late-ish goal at Coventry last week.. As we're away I think I'd be happy enough with a draw but I'm confident we could get a win the way we're improving...

We have fond memories of Barnsley, from our first season in the championship anyway. Steve with the great save... Varney with a rare goal... Survival. I hope for a battling performance. Confidence should be high. Take a point, very happy with a win. Think we've definitely got it in us to do it

Barnsley it is retro day, celebrating legends of the past, fans asked to wear any old kits, there is also family zone to mark the clubs 131 year history . Oakwell a 23.287 all seated stadium one stand holds 7,500. 7 quality players 4 internationals sitting 3rd in league 1 lost once this season. A big club in league 1, a small club at championship level, Bradshaw and our x loan player Woodrow two strikers to look out for. Here goes, a draw would be great, big crowd good home record, still smarting from losing to Coventry ,A novice goalkeeper, it is a loss from me

We really should be beating teams like Barnsley Im not at all sure why we should feel that way. We are still to win away from home this season and are probably still to play our strongest 11 with brayford etc still unavailable. A draw would be a great result against the side sitting 3rd in the league

Yes it will be tough but we should go into every match home or away believing we can win.

We really should be beating teams like Barnsley Not much fun when it's being chanted back at you 10 minutes from the end of a game. Oops. Live and learn Andy, live and learn!

What I saw on Saturday has given me great confidence for this season that we can compete with every team in this league. The key will clearly be keeping our best players fit and available for the majority of the season. That is a big ask but if some of the fringe and loan players can contribute along the way we can approach every game with confidence. Would be happy with either of the last two results we've had at Oakwell especially last seasons!

I think that was without doubt the most embarrassing quote to come out of Andy Garners mouth As I’ve said on here before, keep him away from a microphone and a radio interview !!

Yep both strikers to watch out for not playing Bradshaw on loan at Millwall, but still down as a squad member, and Woodrow still injured not made his debut yet. Two very good strikers missing .So shows the depth of their squad with--Moore----Adeboyejo--Thiem--strikers,and Potts attacking midfield player. A lot of our fringe players lost to a Stoke under 23 side, and conceded 2 goals,It was behind closed doors so only the staff could evaluate our progress and squad strength. Clough expects us to be challenging in this league, and he does not give false hope.So i see this top 10,But still think Barnsley away a big ask

Nice post earwig having a dig at Gardner and then a pop at me,I will try to explain things to you moving away from non league mentality. Gardners quote was comparing championship teams Derby--Villa-Forest--Birmingham--Sheff utd--Leeds--Norwich--Middlesborough--Q_P_R--IPswich--Hull City--SHeff Wed--FUlham--Sunderland even Preston, Big clubs making -- Barnsley a possible 3 points. Bradshaw sold to Millwall in the championship, and Woodrow their Stella signing from premier league Fulham not available against Burton for me is a plus. Moore having a good start does not mean their absence will not be missed. I hope we will be marking all of their players .after all this is League 1 football. I am sure Gardner respects your views and coments
