I am playing in defence tomorrow by the way. The club have just telephoned to ask. I said that I would be ok so long as I can have my usual ciggy at half time. Aha, so that's who's playing alongside me in the 'three at the back'. Stridey called me and says he'll come on for the last 20, unless I collapse before that. I'm playing as the holding midfielder. I'll be on the half way line holding your pint.

Draw would be a great result today
The team that's been announced is like a reserve team based on all the missing players

Just play Phil Edwards anywhere at the back. What's that you say?. Is that David Cameron's car in your avatar? Photo taken in DCFC car park. Don't know who owns the car but the parking slot was labelled NGP

A step too far today but we defended stoutly with a seriously under strength side. I felt the penalty was harsh as well, particularly with some of the stuff the referee had let go earlier. To me it seemed little more than a brush from Lee Williamson, with the Brighton player going down like a sack of potatoes.

Another great performance lads just a shame we couldn't hold on another few minutes. 3 penalty shouts for them and the one awarded was the least convincing. Is Callum Reilly injured aswel?

The gulf between the sides was immense today but we gave it everything and could have sneaked a point. Thought Cloughie a bit unfair to criticise our defending bearing in mind its makeshift nature.
Don't understand the situation with Shaun Barker. He's obviously fit, been awarded a contract , we've a complete back 4 injured/suspended, why doesn't he play ? It would have released Naylor to move into midfield.
Not sure why Beavon was on the bench either ? We were so light up front.
Still will be many more games like that, bring em on !

I get Clough's point, to go 87 mins and concede is frustrating. He was quite animated on the touchline today, really having a go at players for giving the ball away. My slant on it, I didn't expect to win, I expected backs against the wall stuff, I even expected a sucker punch like we got towards the end.
Managers expect better.
BTW soft pen, I've seen those sort of challenges end up with the attacker getting booked for going over too easily.
The lads stood firm, worked hard, everyone of them, no complaints from me apart from the score. Brighton will know they will be in a game on the return match, hopefully all the lads out today will be down there.

Disappointed but can't fault the effort at all. Short of quality but not application. A point would have been like a victory with the team out today Onto Norwich

Not heard the interview yet, but whatever the team out there I expect them to put a shift in and battle. They did for me, Mistakes happen and we get frustrated. I want my manager to reflect my frustration. I also know he would be very proud with what they delivered throughout the game.

I think with the team we had out today and also the way the game started it was remarkable that it took them until the 88th minute to get a goal and a penalty at that.
It looked like we had weathered the storm and just one slack piece of play in the middle of the park lead to them breaking on us. I've seen a replay of the penalty and it looked like the right decision to me. Looked like Williamson put his arms round their player albeit briefly but enough for the player to go down. Surprised it didn't result in a red card.
My only real criticism today was the substitutions. Surely if Barker and Beavon were fit enough to be on the bench, and let's face it they both did enough warming up, they should have been used at some point in the game. Beavon in last 15 minutes for Ward seemed an obvious one and perhaps Barker into defence with Naylor moving into midfield. Nice as it is to see academy players getting a chance they didn't really help the cause much today when they came on and Beavon and Barker would surely have done that.
At the end of the day we are still 4 points clear of the bottom three with the run of fixtures after next week looking a bit easier(if that's the right word!) so hopefully nothing to be too despondent about. We should hopefully have all the big guns back after next weeks game which will be very tough.
Great effort today and we should feel very proud of how we are competing at this level.

It'll be a while before Barker is able to start matches. He's at the stage where he can handle cameos occasionally and, as the man himself said after Derby, he's now building towards starts. But after being out for four-and-a-half years, the last thing either Barker or Clough will want to do is rush him in to anything. Beavon was carrying a knock, we were told, from the Fulham game.

Another hard game next. Nobody expects us to get three points against some of the best teams in the league, we already beat one in Wednesday. Let's keep enjoying the ride, if anyone offered us the results we had so far we'd have snapped their hands off. I would have settled for only 3 points against derby to be honest.

I thought the Lads were Heroic yesterday it was just a shame about what I thought was an harsh penalty, Williamson did touch him with both hands but he went down very easily and celebrated getting the penalty like he had won an Oscar. It was a shame we couldn't test there 3 giant defenders with either O'Grady or Beavon, Miller did a lot of running and his strength will come, but it was like men against boys, even more so when Marcus came on, he is so close to being a good player, I wonder if we sent him on loan to Oldham if they could do for him what they did for Matty. Ben Fox looked quite useful when he came on. All in all there is no complaints from me, a point against a very good Brighton side would have been great but has I have said before, losing in this league is no disgrace as long as we give it a go and that we did. Both sets of fans singing Albion, Albion together, Brilliant.

I agree Swaddy, a very harsh penalty for me. I feel sorry for Lee Williamson who had played very well in an unfamiliar position. Feel so proud of the lads and they almost achieved the impossible.

I thought Nigel was harsh to criticize the defence has he did, ok I agree Brayford shouldn't have lost it so easily and in that position of the pitch, but what the hell did he expect from them, they were under the cosh all the game as our forwards did not have the ability or have a clue to hold the ball up and take the pressure of them.
Ward and Hamza were very poor, and as for Ward I thought he had a stinking game, he should have the experience to help the younger players.
In my opinion the defence did a great job in keeping them from scoring as long as they did to say how much Brighton had possession in our half and box I think we miss Naylor in midfield and hopefully with having Turner back NC will slot him back into the centre midfield position, we also have O'Grady back to hold the ball up.
A great performance by the lads, I felt gutted at the end

I know that Brighton are a decent side but they were playing a patched-up Burton Albion side. They should have won 5 or 6 nil. They didn't. That was a failure for them and a mark of the determination of the Brewers.
