Roy McFarland did half a season with Bolton in the mid nineties... actually he was joint manager with Colin Todd. Roy got sacked around Christmas leaving Todd in full charge. Bolton were relegated.

There has been no mention so far for an unsung hero from the past who identified and attracted in a lot of the team that bought Rowett and JFH a lot of success - Kevin Summerfield. Without a doubt Gary's best and most important signing for us and Birmingham City.

Given his ability, experience and ambition I suspect Rowett will be the first ex-Burton manager to manage in the Premiership. Wouldn't that be the second one? Neil Warnock? True enough. I must be losing it surrounded by sheep.
